At least in limited, this can be pretty strong. I've had enough games that ended with "If you had not killed me this turn, I would have definitely killed you the next."

And that's the Magic of Meletis.

Hey, this guy escaped from Odunos. That's pretty hard to do. Must've been at least 7 damage worth hard to do.

I so wish damage prevention was viable.

So for 2 mana we get the worst Fog variant yet. If this had also had the choice of gaining 7 life, I think it'd be much better--especially considering if you use this without taking the full 7 damage the rest is pretty much wasted.

pauper Hold the Line. I can't believe Bar The Door gets more love than this. You people are so picky 2.5/5 because it's your average card, basically.

Alright in response to removal, but you want your combat tricks to add power so that you can actually kill opposing creatures that you initially wouldn't have. This can double as virtual life gain, but unfortunately won't interact with Angelic Accord and the like.
A solid-enough card for Limited. Works as a combat trick (and even a Heroic trigger potentially), or saves your ass from an all-in swing that leaves your opponent wide open. This is NOT as bad as people think.

Kept me alive at the prerelease. Not much else to say.

Hmmm...I may not be a big fan of this card, but I do realize that this can be either a pseudo-fog, a possible combat trick or a straight up creature-saver. Not trying to force myself on liking this card, but the optionality is certainly not bad (albeit not great for either options except for the "saving" part)
