Wow. Flexible, powerful, and efficient, this will definitely be a powerhouse in Limited and Standard, maybe even showing up in Modern! That would be really cool to see a resurgence of Living End Cascade decks

I can't believe I haven't commented on this card yet. This is the card that got me the most excited of Gatecrash (really!). The optionality and all is great already, but what made the card for me is that BOTH options are reasonably costed. 5/5

The pumping is good, but granting trample is even better, and it could enter the battlefield as a decently cost creature, very powerful.

If this would have been printed as a demon from Rakdos for , i would not have had any doubts that this was, in fact, a demon. Those chains and the gloomy, fire-lit background seem to suggest that the scene takes place somewhere underground.
So i actually wonder if this artwork was originally intended for a Rakdos demon. I'm not going to complain though - this is a great beast card.

A reasonably strong creature at its cost that can double as Colossal Might that gives both a +2 toughness boost and is uncounterable? Definitely the most powerful Bloodrush card, and stronger than many of the rares in Gatecrash.

Note that Colossal Might can also be used on a blocker (or something not in combat, to spare it from a Bolt or something), while this can't. Still, in an aggro-heavy guild like Gruul, that doesn't matter much.

Rampager is bonkers. It's almost like someone said "How can we make Colossal Might better? Why by giving you the option to play it as a 4/4 with trample of course!"
Sure can only play it when you attack, but who cares when your hitting your opponent for 6,7, or 8? Oh and it's a creature with trample when you need it. For four mana. I love bloodrush.
Its based around being too fast to stop. It can get 10 or so dmg in before a verdict hits. Then get a flipped kruin out, rush it and swing for game.
Funny this is the only gruul card that stacks up to the wolves. I was considering rubblebelt as well but its vulnerable and lacks evasion. Oh, the bloodrush snake is pretty tight too. Also thinking of wrecking ogre, just for the bloodrush. Too much mana tho, i like being confident with three lands. Deadbridge can also add some much needed late game. A final thought was domri x 2, but planeswalkers weigh u down in these colors. Also, I pride myself on this being a budget deck, that can be built for about $20 on amazon (provided you have at least a few rancors and crags to start) and it can stand up to decks where literally every single card is about $20. Granted it will die horrible deaths to serenity, but a lucky revenge will solve that lil prob.
In conclusion, 5/5 for total, deck inspiring awesomeness, at uncommon where it should be. Nb-two of these makes for a nice eight damage turn five, with three land open. Take that, crap mechanic grandeur
Do you want a fair-sized critter with trample? Done. Need to save a creature from death? Go for it. Will a surprise power and trample boost win you the game? Here you go.
Ghor-Clan Rampager is a great card, no matter where you play it.

To psychichobo You are probably new, so let me explain. Channel was instant speed, it usually cost more than the actual creature's converted mana cost. The effect of being channeled was usually a stand alone spell. Thus creatures with channel served a dual purpose, at sorcery speed they are creatures, at instant speed they are combat tricks and the like.
Bloodrush can only be used during your attack phase. Bloodrush effects boost the power/toughness of your attacking creature. The bonus is only during your turn. There is less flexibility but it makes up for it with the surprise factor on your opponents face when they take 9 damage instead of 3. Bloodrush is perfect for Gruul, whereas Channel was more about spirits being sacrificed for an effect.
And Lastly no one respects Kamigawa block. It created a cardtype that was clunky and didnt interact well with other cards ie Arcane. If Arcane was printed as an ability then it would've interacted better but since it was under the subtype category it will always be a black mark in the history of magic accompanying cards like snowtype, Tribal spells, etc.

Usually better than Colossal Might, except that it's also an on curve creature when you have nothing to Might.
Easily the best of the bloodrushes. Don't need a bloodrush deck to use him, just replace your combat trick with this guy, runhim in an aggro deck, call it good. He'll tear things up no problem.
Note that colossal might still has a few places it belongs: -Next to Bloodbraid Elf and Violent Outburst -Next to Kiln Fiend or other "instants and sorceries matter" cards -On Isochron Scepter (why might? Fun) -In pauper -It's nice that it can be used on the defense
and probably a couple other situations I'm not thinking of. Still, this is an awesome card that usually plays as a better CM but with options.

This plus Boros Charm for double strike has been my favorite combo this year. I once tapped out for Jace, Architect of Thought on turn four against an empty board for his -2, only to have an Advent of the Wurm coming in at end of turn and killing me the next turn when I was at 17 life. Any random Flinthoof Boar or Loxodon Smiter suddenly deal 14-16 trampling damage with Ghor-Clan Rampager + Boros Charm, and the best part is either part of the combo is incredible in its own right.
One word of advice against Gruul or Naya aggro: cast your Tragic Slip and Shock at the beginning of combat step, not after they declare attacks. If they tap creatures and say "I attack", ask them to backtrack to the beginning of combat step. "Bloodrush in response to your Shock" can be pretty devastating, but since bloodrush can only be activated after the creature attacks, it is a very avoidable mistake.

I played this before Innistrad rotated in a R/G werewolf deck, and it got absolutely silly. I would attack with a bunch of big creatures, and my opponent only lets a 2/2 through, but then that 2/2 turns into a 6/6. For 2 mana, I might add.

In limited, is great. In standard, similarly impressive. A lot of the time it's a 2-mana kill your blocker and deal 2 to your face. Hardcasting it is a little sad, but a 4/4 is still beefy, and while it dies to smiter, not many other creatures that are playable can trade with or kill it during combat. The real problem is that control decks respond to your bloodrush with Azorius Charm or a kill spell, and that is a big blowout, in terms of mana, card advantage, and tempo. Picking the right time to bloodrush is a good skilltester, since you have to read what your opponent has in hand.

On turn four, I gave him to a kalonian tusker , along with a slaughterhorn , and armed from Armed//Dangerous. Swung for lethal. He confidently told me he'd block with a 1/1 soldier token, and I told him it had trample. He stared at this card for a bit, then realized he didn't have enough white weenies to block lethal. We spent the next few minutes laughing.
