boon reflection...but costs 1 less...and on something that can block...and gains you some life...and it's a RHINO MONK... :)

Another cornerstone for lifegain decks, looks like.

Strictly better than Boon Reflection, but generally it's easier to get rid of a creature than enchantment... but in my opionon it's better, much more better.
We all know lifegain isn't a win condition (cough, *Felidar*, cough), but cards like this make it more and more attractive every day!

Surprisingly useful in M13 limited.

As Lord_of_Tresserhorn said, Felidar Sovereign makes this card FUNNY. If you're a casual player who doesn't care about format changes, this combo would be INSANE. Not to mention the fact that this card also turns a card from Avacyn Restored, Cathedral Sanctifier, into a one mana "I now gain six life" card.
Also, I'm just going to say this now - if they EVER reprint this card, they SHOULD also reprint Serra Ascendant at the same time.
One last thing - Note the ultimate effect of M13's version of Ajani, or even the original Ajani Goldmane's ultimate with this. Insane.
EDIT: I had originally seen this card BEFORE seeing some of the later cards in the set, INCLUDING Serra Avatar. Life recovery decks now have a win condition.
I can just imagine the amount of rage-quitting that would happen after slapping a Celestial Mantle on this bad boy.

@Autor: You can't say "Strictly Better" unless there are NO differences in the card that aren't numerical. You can definitely say "Subjectively Better" or "Statistically better", but "Strictly" means that in NO way is it anything but as-good or better. And Creature Removal being an important part of any deck says that its not the same, whereas some colors don't even HAVE enchantment removal.

@Silver-Paladin Even statistically better cards aren't strictly better because things with higher power are more vulnerable to certain spells in some cases, etc.

This guy combos with many different cards. Lifegaining can win you games if you are a pro like me.

The most fun I had with this card:
Late game and I have this guy and a bunch of walls.
Does this card's second ability count as a source of life gain for Ajani's Pridemate ? im making a life gain deck and jus noticed that it might. Any answers?
Honestly, the most sickening thing I've managed to do with this was a kicked Rite of Replication targeting it while I had Growing Ranks out, leading to me eventually having 9 faithmenders out, then swinging with a 14/14 flying Wurmcoil Engine , and gaining 14336 life. If my opponent hadn't died from that, Felidar Sovereign would have done him in....

@myztikrice/Silver-Paladin Strictly better has nothing to do with what can target it. These are the two scenarios in which something is strictly better A) It accomplishes the same thing for less mana or less color restrictive mana options (IE the difference between {2}{W} or {1}{W}{W}) B)It does more of something which can in most scenarios be considered beneficial (IE cantrip) for the same mana cost. (Note that cards that cost the same as unsummon but have the creature's controller lose one life is not strictly better.)

@atemu1234 ...no...you're wrong...strictly better really only makes sense if there is literally no situation short of change of control that makes it better to have the other. Otherwise there are certainly meta's/decks that would prefer either side. The only times I've really been willing to say strictly better are searing spear vs. lightning bolt and greatsword vs. vulshok battlegear

The amount of lifegain you can get from this guy is crazy, plus he is a very solid blocker.

Not a bad card at all; I find the issue with is is actually finding room for it in a lifegain deck. Between Wall of Reverence, Wrath of God and Well of Lost Dreams, that 4 mana slot is already pretty clogged in many mono-white lifegain decklists.

Yep, a couple of these guys, some Beacon of Immortalities, maybe in a soul sisters format with an archangel of thune or two and you have a pretty savage lifegain recipe.

Lasting Toughness? check.
Pocket change cost? check.
Yep, one of the better white cards.

I use infinite reflection on him.
So now I have ten Rhox Faithmenders.
Attack > I gain 10,240 life.
