What the flying fvck is up with this art. Seriously! Although it seems like it would be good in limited

I love the concept here, seems a bit top-down in design based on the art and I can just feel this guy striding through the underbrush.

Maybe in a red green aggro deck, with a good amount of cheap bun, to get rid of potential blockers? The one toughness really hurts... 3/2 vanilla would be much better than 3/1 vigilance.

As a pro, I prefer to have my beasts with vigilance, and this guy has it. An awesome attacker and defender.

An aggressive Vigilance creature? What is the world coming to?

This thing will tend to trade when it attacks is the only problem: Vigilance ensures that your opponent will choose to trade on their terms (choosing a blocker) rather than yours (you choose which attacker to block)
Accorder Paladin is a 3/1 for 2 and has an ability, and is rated over a 4.
This is a 3/1 for 2 with a relevant creature type (This is a two-cost Beast), and a relevant ability, and isn't even rated a 2.95? Something strange going on around here...
I'm giving this a 4.5/5... this is a very underrated card.

I like it. In the early game (in limited, of course...), a turn 2 Brushstrider can often come through for 3 or 6 damage while also protecting you when your opponent doesn't want to trade their guildmage or token they want to populate so desperately.

Trygon_Predator: Actually, if you think about it- I'd rather block with my first strike creatures and attack with my vigilance creatures. It's wierd, but it works. :)

Mmm, blini cakes actually sound pretty good. For those who don't know, blini are basically Russian crepes.

3/5. 3/1 vigilance for 1. Decent in draft but not much else.

The sad thing is, this guy attacks once and his spindly little legs are broken, rendering Vigilance somewhat...less than thrilling.

Nice later pick for Simic once Dragon's Maze hits.

You know what you get when you play this thing with Silverblade Paladin, Ethereal Armor, Boros Charm, or Ajani, Caller of the Pride? You get a monster that will keep your opponents from attacking, a creature that will never need to trade, a creature that will chew through your opponent's life at a massive pace. All of which can be achieved on turn 3, without the need for wasting cards on manadorks.
This card isn't for every deck, but when you've found the deck for it, it will eat through any cute little Thragtusk put in its way like they were blini-cakes.

Reminds me of Spark Elemental that sticks around to block, if needed, but without haste. Not as strong as Accorder Paladin or Tarmogoyf, but definitely a contender in the right deck. Did anybody notice how well this helps evolving stuff? I say 4/5.

Great card, kinda reminds me of gore house chainwalker in that it's 3 power for 2 mana in an aggressive color. I feel like this would go well in infect or greater good type builds
Edit, much later- whats the story here? Has anyone rocked this in competitive casual to good effect, where it clearly belongs? In what build? Im considering it for a legacy green deck wins im making, its a combo of low cost aggression and all too rare green spot removal (twister, roots, sting) which could clear a path for this dude

@TowerDefender: R U A WIZZARD Door of Destinies is a reprint in M14, just spoiled today!
There are a bunch of cool beasts in M14 so far, including a 3/3 Kalonian Tusker for , so Brushstrider still might not see play in a constructed beast deck. That would be too bad.
