I love opening with this turn one before my opponent has even had a chance to drop a land.
It also combos well with the teetering peaks that come in the deck for a nice 5 swing turn 2.
And Hellspark isn't really better or worse, just different. He costs double as much to do the same damage, both times. Flexibility but loss of mana efficiency. Personally, I run both since I find they serve different purposes (but compliment each other well).

Run with Teetering Peaks in a Fling deck.
Consider crack the earth for a free land destroy if they didn't play a creature! If doing this, Brute Force, and Reckless Charge are great!
Also, Double Cleave, Assault Strobe, and Spark Spitter, Hell's thunder! All sorts of ways to go!
