I can't believe people haven't commented on this card, I see it as one of the biggest shenanigan card WoTC ever made as an uncommon. Seriously there is so many green decks just said "thank you so much!" to this. I'm somewhat disgusted and at the same time happy to see something that can ruin someone's day all at once, it has the ability to make a quick blocker while at the same time in an elf deck just becomes rather bonkers. i guess the only thing you could do is Whipfire and call it a day with red decks, white controls can run Norn's annex to prevent major attacks, and for blacks, they got Black Sun's Zenith. all of them has the ability to control your hoard, but over all late game bomber totally

Mr. Lordtaco

What's Jade Mage got to do with elves?

Why not, you know, run more elves instead?

Yeah, you'd get more use out of, say, an Elvish Promenade or Lys Alana Huntmaster in an elf deck. This is a good card for green, yes, but not a boon to elf token decks.

@LordTaco Most of the comments are hidden because it was just reprinted.

I currently play this card in a cheap white/green agro deck and like it just because it's a good way to use your excess mana and because if you combine it with Mentor Of The Meek it becomes strictly better then Azure Mage.

Would 1+{G} for hexproof be OP, considering it would be amazingly affective against Gideon's Lawkeeper to say the least?

@Drewsel: I think the point is more that elves are usually very good with supplying mana, making it possible to use the saproling ability several times a turn. Although, I'm not sure if there might be actual elves that can summon saprolings themselves. All I can think of at the moment is Elvish Farmer.

You don't understand. This is the closest they're going to get to reprinting Sliver Queen! 4/5

@endersblade
I'd just run blasting station instead. It costs 1 more mana to play, but then it can still infinite kill, and it has more utility if you don't go infinite. Increasing devotion can turn into an emergency lava axe, but it's divided as you choose, and can hit creatures.
