Ok, so now you just need to declare blockers...

This will be a really fun cycle in limited. Also, this one'll be a great opportunity to windmill slam it on the table and see if anyone gets the "slam" reference.

Commissioning Izzy to do the Mage cycle art was one of the best artistic decisions Wizards has ever made.

@Enemy_Tricolor - Should I say that 'you're the inspiration of a whole generation'?

I agree all around about the mage cycle. I've really only gotten to play with Onyx and Jade but we're just getting started, right? They combo together nicely, and things really get going depending on how you've set up your deck.

I love it when weenies are dangerous!

Very useful later game in my BR Bloodthirst deck, when I have a significant number of creatures and enough mana but nothing in my hand. Suddenly, they all have deathtouch.
Particularly brutal with Blood Ogre.

I got two of these together in a draft tourney yesterday: Alabaster and Crimson. They worked strangely well together, especially combined with throne of empires. I can see this one being very useful too... I love this cycle so much.

PS. The gang sign comment made me laugh so hard.

This card is incredibly powerful.

Make your 1/1 flying destroy his 6/6 Titan.

I like that.
alot.

Surprising there's no comment here about Ashmouth Hound. Get a Lure on that puppy (no pun intended) and you'll have a wipe of all your opponent's untapped creatures most of the time. Even if you don't or don't have Lure, it still makes the deathtouch this guy gives be a one sided kill even against first strike or double strike even.

My fav Mage, has the potential to make the biggest boom of all 5 mages, especially in the right deck! Oh and.. Plays very well with Triskelion!

@devilsanddemons

If I'm not mistaken, you can activate this in response to the devil's enters-the-battlefield ability. The mage's ability will resolve first, giving the devil deathtouch before his ability resolves.

@ adrian.malacoda and ninjaboy05

I can see this having some really strong political effects in EDH. Just having two mana open and a chump you can steer your opponent's fatties away from you. In addition, should they decide to use removal on it, it's likely they'll have to waste more resources getting rid of him than you did putting him on the board. He falls nicely into that zone of "not worth getting rid of, but too good to let live" that will keep your opponent's guessing.

Limited gold! Make every attacker a problem and every block a No Mercy/Dread.

It's not the best for Standard (as all of you can see), but it was a great card to throw in those Intro Decks for beginners. It makes them learn about combat tricks.

Well, at least it made me learn about it! Pick 2-5 worthy! This, plus hundreds of other reasons, is why I loved M12 limited.

I don't see why this isn't rated at least 4. Just facing off against a Giant Scorpion can sometimes prevent an opponent from attacking. Now, make all your creatures potentially a Giant Scorpion.

This seems really good; especially in tokens/weenies.
REALLY too bad it's not just target creature. You could screw up some serious multiplayer with that, especially in edh
