Compared to other Modern {1} cost instants that deal flat damage:
{W} White: =Rain of Blades: Deals 1 damage to EVERY attacking creature.
{R} Red: =Inflame: Deals 2 to EVERY creature dealt damage this turn. =Geistflame: Can target any creature, but only does 1 damage. Flashback for {3}{R}. =Gut Shot: Can target any creature, but only does 1 damage. Can be paid with 2 life instead. =Shard Volley: Can target any creature OR player, and does 3 damage. Must additionally sac a land. =Lightning Axe: Can target any creature, and does 5 damage. Must additionally discard 1 for pay {5}. =Needle Drop: Can target any creature OR player that was dealt damage this turn, but only does 1 damage. Draw 1. =Unstable Footing: Can target any creature OR player, and does 5 damage, but ONLY if Kicked for {3}{R}. Otherwise damage this turn cannot be prevented. < Dead: Can target any creature. Also a double card. <Magma Spray: Can target any creature. Target is exiled if killed. <Electrostatic Bolt: Can target any creature. Does 4 instead if target is artifact. <Shock: Can target any creature OR player. <Tarfire: Can target any creature OR player. Also Tribal Goblin. <Lightning Bolt: Can target any creature OR player and does 3 damage. <Galvanic Blast: Can target any creature OR player. Does 4 instead with Metalcraft. <Burst Lightning: Can target any creature OR player. Does 4 instead with {4} cost Kicker.
{G} Green: =Hornet Sting: Can target any creature OR player, but only does 1 damage. =Leaf Arrow: Can target any creature WITH Flying, and does 3 damage.
Clearly on the lower end, and often grossly inferior to many Red equivalents.
Conclusion: White does NOT get everything!

Excellent.

I like this. It's white direct damage(though only in combat), and it shows players that plenty of white direct-kill stuff is only in combat(Divine Verdict, Rebuke, Resounding Silence, etc.)

Made me so mad at the prerelease. So mad.

Garbage, garbage, garbage. That being said, I'm definitely picking this in Limited because it'll get the job done. And I'm giving HeartbreakerStudios five stars for going that extra mile to prove lorendorky wrong. ;)
Give it "damage can't be prevented" or "if the creature is put into a graveyard this way, remove it instead".

I'm hoping white sees Harm's way slip into core sets and not this. And yes, I'm aware of the rarity difference.

This has been a long time coming. pokerbob1 over at mtgsalvation.com called this during Planar Chaos speculation back in late 2006: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?p=1651981#post1651981
Can't remember if I'd personally thought of it earlier as a rangestrike variant. Probably not, as other than Devouring Light and Vanquish, most white instants only killed attackers.

do you think "righteous blow" was a covert drug reference?
say what you want but it rly is very usefull to kill small creatures/ finish off bigger ones. play with is once and you will be amazed what this brings to the table

I prefer Sunlance for the extra versatility and extra point of damage. Granted, it won't take down a Ball Lightning or any other hasty creature, since it's a sorcery, but still.

I feel bad for the naughty thoughts I had when reading the cards name =/
