Now that we've had a year to work with the Titans, I think it's pretty clear how powerful this card is. I liked him when he came out, and I still love him now. Made even better by being in a Standard format that also includes Urabrask the Hidden and Koth of the Hammer.

My beard is made out of fire. Your argument is invalid.
I played a game against my friend and mid-game he casts this guy. My turn, and I Doomblade the sucker and promptly bring him under my control with Rise from the Grave. The turn after that I enchant him with Phyresis.
I don't think I've ever seen my friend that angry.
Point of the story, Inferno Titan with infect? Sick.

Beardfire Badass. Whenever Beardfire Badass enters the battlefield or attacks, pwn up to 3 target dorks.
I prefer his alternate art version too this printing, (shows him with a flail with three mace balls) although this card has an epic beard. As a card I believe this card is amazing as are the other titans, but it is a little over powered.

I played a standard tourney the other night running a mono red deck and went undefeated. Now I only run 2 of these in the deck but I run with 4 quicksilver amulets. Game winning combo ended up being a turn 6 victory. Played a Goblin Fireslinger turn 3. Turn 4 I dropped my Quicksilver Amulet and turn 5 laid him down, wiped 2 critters off the field and turn six I pumped him twice, pinged once, swung away and then Fling. 20 damage in one turn. WIN. Long winded point is that this card has great possibilities for ruining someone's day.

Can I give +1/+0 for all mountains in the same turn ?
As if I had 10 mountains I could give him 16/6 ???

Can his triggered effect be nullified by a removal spell (Doom Blade)? Because he can't deal damage if he isn't there anymore, right? Anyway, that makes him the worst Titan in the cycle if that's the case.

Unless you can counter it, the spell resolves and he does his damage. Doesn't matter if you Doom Blade him after he enters the battlefield.

There's a reason I made a rap of the titans, and why he's the first to go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1imB5SkuPQ
The activated ability isn't that bad of an excuse for this card not having haste and its ability triggering twice.
I'm kidding. With G and mana acceleration, not to mention Wolf Run stuff, this card is broken.

Vault of the Archangel goes pretty damn amazingly with any Red creature that deals extra damage. Ashmouth Hound is the most merciful option. It's a tough choice between this and Hellrider for the least.
I know what you're thinking. 'Darth, that mana base is crazy wack'. So? If you are running Red-Black-White, that gives you an excuse to use 12 Dual Lands (Dragonskull Summit, Isolated Chapel, and Clifftop Retreat), and put sick Red Creatures with sick White and Black Spells. Like Oblivion Ring, and Sorin, Lord of Innistrad.
(Sorin, Lord of Innistrad + Hellrider is one of the most awesome 1-2 punches I can think of in Standard right now.)
And don't get me started on Kaalia....(Commander decks, even tribal ones, should always consider seriously whether or not to make room for a Titan. They are usually worth being off-type to play.)
I once used inferno titan tapping all my red mana except two to give it +11/0 until end of turn after I put executioner's hood on it and then attacked. I then proceeded to use fling, sacrificing it before the end of my turn. So I ended up dealing about 30 damage in one turn. Although I've done many things worse than this to other people with my red deck I never forget the look on people's faces when I use this tactic.

4.5/5 just because he has a fiery beard. I have said I hated Primeval Titan but I love Inferno Titan. His abilities are evenly costed. He doesn't ruin the game. He is a serious threat but very manageable. He clears up the board of potential blockers. I mean whats not to love about this guy? If I could give this guy a nickname it would be Prometheus, the greek diety who brought the gift of fire for Humanity. Too bad the name Prometheus is a trademark, but still Prometheus would rock!!

I run four of these in my dragonstorm deck simply because he's an easy win condition to bust out with the crazy amounts of mana I generate very early in the game and I'd rather draw him than a dragon.

Honestly, this I'd say this is one of the best titans. It's very hard to win a game after he hits the board. Especially on turn 1 (Thanks, Dragonstorm deck.)
One of the weaker titans compared to Primeval or Grave... but that just shows how broken those two are. This one is much more balanced.

I was always curious why he was given Firebreathing instead of Haste. If anything, WotC probably initially had him with haste. I mean, the other Titans were given abilities that are generally used in there colours (Primeval = Trample, Grave = Deathtouch, Sun = Vigilance, Frost =... pseudo-hexproof... I guess), and haste is the most Red ability.
However, the more I thought about it, the more broken Inferno became. An immediate 6 damage, divided as you wish, plus the 6/6 coming your way? Sweet Jesus...
Therefore, a less impressive but still very Red ability like Firebreathing is entirely fair.

@Ferlord Exactly. If this guy had haste, he would be ridiculous. You'd probably be able to clear their field and land a free 6 damage the turn you play him. If it's an empty field, that would be 12 damage to their face. That said, he is one of the less powerful titans (although that's not saying he's weak, because titans are all still titans) and a small buff would not have made him step on the other titans.
As for the card, I really like it. You get to shoot planeswalkers and utility creatures as well as put a giant (literally) threat on the board. He's also extremely hard to chump.

My friends used to think haste was an overrated ability. I mean, come on, it only matters for one turn, right? Then I dropped this guy after I played Urabrask the Hidden. Now they respect and fear hasty creatures.

Depending if you ramped into him: He attacks for between 9 and 15 *by himself* the next turn (including his split bolt damage) if you were nice enough to give him haste, he hits for 12 without pumping; 6 of that is divisible between players and creatures (ensuring no blockers.)
Corpse Dance = Budget Friendly T3 12 damage minimum.
