He's more like the mystic's older brother who likes to lift weights. Or in this case, axes.

@MasterOfCruelties You mean he likes to lift trees that have been de-branched and have sharpened boulder stripped on with heavy metal bars, which take the form of axes.

This card is so awesome. It's balanced, as opposed to stoneforge mystic, by having a high mana cost, and by not gaining you anything until the turn after. I like that he has vigilance as well which allows him to attack and then choose his weapon as a surprise for the blocker (or lack of blocker).
I'm not sure if it will work, but I so badly want to put worldslayer into my Tajic EDH deck so I can surprise blow up everything (except Tajic who has worldslayer still equipped).

When you swing with him - or any other creature - it's always a gamble for your opponent. What's he going to equip? OH GOD WHAT!?
Great design. Instant speed tutor & equip puts your opponent in a conundrum, and vigilance lets him join the attack. 5/5

In a Rafiq deck, and pulling out a Grafted Exoskeleton is a quick way to get enemies. Usually no one expects you to have infect in the deck, let alone that lowly card. Swinging with anything that is at least a 2/2 with Rafiq on the board is an instant win - they usually wont be worried about some 2/2 double strike with an exalted trigger. And then Stonehewer does what he does best.

Whoa; Batterskull. I realize Stoneforge does it too; but batterskull creates a token meaning this guy becomes a creature engine of completely broken creatures. The token is a creature you control; so it works with his ability too.

this doucher combos with himself. attack with vigilance and combat boost with an equipment in your deck. first round--whispersilk cloak second round--sword of feast and famine so then you can play another one and do it all over again. retarded.
