Makes an infect deck able to play Mind Control without being concerned about changing damage strategies. I wanna equip an Emrakul with it...

So for 5 CMC, my opponent loses their best creature, I get it, and it gets infect. That's ridiculous, the creature you get alone would probably cost more than that if it had infect and by the time you can play this, there's bound to be a decent target on the board. Suddenly, I want to start splashing more blue into my infect deck. I can't wait to throw this on someone's Baneslayer Angel.

I hereby predict this will do dumb, dumb things in EDH.

Mind Control and Volition Reins are my favorite blue cards in casual play. Meet your new best friend! This card DESERVED to have Karn on its cover. Heck, worst case scenario you equip one of your own fatties with infect and win the game.

This card in a vacuum: awesome.

This card in a set with zero infect in blue: a kick in the balls.

@ Robram89: blue has infect, this card right here. Oh, a proliferate. But it's not like that gets along with infect at all :P

Compare this art and Distant Memories' and you could say they were made by the same artist. But they're not! O_O

Blue doesn't have Infect? Blue doesn't NEED infect.

Ichorclaw Myr, Blinkmoth Nexus, and Proliferate. Then this, as a potential lulzy finisher.

This card and Distortion Strike are the only reasons to splash Blue in Infect decks.
My guess would be both will be featured in the UB Infect Event Deck.

Okay, who else was super excited when the art for this card was revealed in that Arcana a few weeks back?

Now I'm ***ed. I was so hoping for Karn to at least be a creature. :<

The card's good, don't get me wrong. I just really wanted to cast him and yell out "KARN IS DISPLEASED WITH YOU WRETCHED MIRRAN SCUM. I HAVE COME TO TAKE THIS WORLD IN THE NAME OF PHYREXIA."

@Thraxan_Number_14: Well, they WERE made with the same Style guide. That DOES matter.

My favorite moment of the Prerelease was using this on a Molten-Tail Masticore. I felt really bad for the guy for about half a second, and then I hit him in the face for 4.

I can really see UB Control sending in Skittles and this instead of the Titans. Maybe a sideboard card.

Slapped it on an opponent's Victory's Herald during the prerelease and laughed heartily.

Poor Karn. He's probably better off dead at this point. Such a tortured soul, he was once the most upstanding member of the magic universe, but now what? Is he going to be forced down a route of relentless destruction as Yawgmoth's successor? Or will Venser manage to find him and use his +2 ability on him?

Hell, you can do this on your own beefy creature just to give it infect. Probably one of my favorite blue cards in this set.

Phyrexia: I put Corrupted Conscience on your Karn, Silver Golem
Mirrodin: I respond with Brand for great justice/irony

@ Kryptnyt

I hope Venser does find Karn. I found he kills him and seals his fate becoming the ruler of a grand new Phyrexia. Because I'm kinda tired of seeing Bolas behind everything that goes horribly wrong.

Played a game last night where my opponent mana ramped, then tapped out to play a Kozilek. Next turn, I promptly stole it with Corrupted Conscience, at which point he conceded. Played another game where my opponent had a 14/15 Vampire Nighthawk (thank to Blade of the Bloodchief), which I brought over to the dark(er) side on the next turn. This card steals games that would otherwise be hopeless for an infect deck.

BTW, Emrakul cannot be stolen with this card because it has protection from all colored spells.

This card turns the tide of any game if played at least decently.
Its cousin mind control has already won me a lot of games in a w/u deck, with this infect decks can compensate for their somewhat weak creatures when playing against timmy.

"Hey Karn!.. Oh wow... Ummm... You look... Great?"
"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL"
"Well, balls."

In all seriously, this is stupidly evil. Lets take Mind Control and staple a really powerful ability to the creature controlled by it. :D

Also, I reckon that this would wreck with Inferno Titan. Since the Titan is doing the damage... You can see where this is going.

So in the flavor text, it says Karn's creation is now his master...could Memnarch come back in New Phyrexia? I know he was deactivated and destroyed, but maybe...that would be AWESOME!!! If he does, he might be a planeswalker! I think that it would be cool for the mythics to the the five praetors, Karn the Corrupted (maybe as a planeswalker), and Memnarch Reborn (again, maybe as a planeswalker), then maybe Yawgmoth Reincarnated (a stretch, but it would be SWEET!!!)

Also, can't you enchant one of your own guys to give him infect?

I dont care how its done, how many cards it takes, how many rules it breaks.

somebody needs to Voltron 'Infect' 'Indestructible' 'Annihilator 6' and 'Protection from Everything'
together.

Darksteel Colossus, Progenitus, Emrakul the Aeons Torn, Experiment Kraj, Corrupted Conscience and...something from an Un-Set?

SCREW THE RULES MY MONSTER EATS YOU DEAD!

Flash, Uncounterable, Haste and Double Strike, would I suppose, be overkill.
do. it.

Only once have I ever played this card and not immediately gotten a look of pure, unadulterated, soul-burning hatred.

That one exception happened like this:

"Rampaging Baloths, pass turn."
"Corrupted Conscience him, and pass it back."
"Ha, I knew you had that! Naturalize, swing for six!"
"Shit, take it, down to eight. My turn?"
"Yeah, go. Haha, knew that would work."
"Hey, you have another one of those?"
"No, why?"
"Cause I have another. Corrupted Conscience."
". . . I hate you so much."

The flavor, the FLAVOR. It's like a filet of card. It gushes with evil, it fits Phyrexia perfectly, and it's a powerful card, what more can you ask for? Auto-include in any EDH deck I make running Blue simply because of how much of a screw over this can be against fatties. Why yes, I would love having a Primeval Titan plus infect, thank you very much! Even funnier in the EDH case if you grab their general.

It's easy to attach it to Emrakul
Just use Kitsune Mystic/Crown of Ages.

ok so earlier today i was doing a 2v1 duel with my friend and it was me wit h U/G versus 2 zombie token decks and i was running out of time (literally, like i had to leave) so i asked them if i could take my turn and this is what went down:
(my field, an omnath, locus of mana with 6 green floating, a Llanowar Elves, an Overgrown Battlement and another defender. i had 9 forest and 4 islands...........My opponents had about 30 zombies and they would go up to 60 next turn)
I draw, smile evilly and tapp everything to play this and flight on my Omnath and i swung for just enough infect to win :D oh and did i mention how every single one of there zombies were tapped cause i played sleep the turn b4? no? ok.

It's not as completely overpowered as everyone seems to think it is. If you're using it in a non-Infect deck, you've gained the ability to deal permanent damage but split your player damage base. But infect decks couldn't really use Mind Control for the same reason, as it'd split their damage base. While this card is certainly powerful (Pricing it the same as Mind Control classic was a bit of a dick move Wizards,) the existence of a card like this was pretty much necessary.

Also, flavor. So much delicious flavor. I hate Phyrexia with a passion and I still think this is one of my favorite cards from the block. Viva la Vorthos!

@lordof1000mimes
I was playing a wacky draft(when you can play with any packs you want) and i made a ok infect deck with this card. First match he went first and we played a land and ended our turns. He hit his fifth land turn five playing baneslayer and then i drew my second island to corrupt his baneslayer. He cried as i swung next turn for 9 infect with skittles.

This card is like literally SO evil! I stole my opponents 24/24 Primordial Hydra... Win.. Next turn.. Although stalling with it is fun, eventually it became a 96/96 trample, infect.. Then I won

You could always just give one of your own creatures this just so it gains infect. It doesn't specify any parameters you have to follow. By any chance, wouldn't Heartless Hidetsugu just be THAT much more destructive with infect? You just got to give him some private time in his Personal Sanctuary first.

Phyresis, in comparison, is significantly less useful since it doesn't have the oh-so-insignificant ability of "You control enchanted creature".

"Gain control of target creature" ok well... "it gains infect" SIGN ME UP. HIlarious topdeck, also a terrible way to end long epic EDH games (which I've done multiple times).
