Hilarious effects with Soul Snuffers or Pyrrhic Revival. Once spent at least twenty minutes in one game figuring out what happens when you Pyrrhic Revival with a Soul Snuffers in your graveyard with Necroskitter and a Blowfly Infestation in play in a multiplayer game.

brunsbr103, when creatures are moved to the graveyard from play, all buff/debuff counters are removed unless something says otherwise
for example, i'm using an elemental b/d counter deck against my friend who plays green, and this with kulrath knight, corrosive mentor, soul snuffers, and incandescent soulstoke (to counterbalance soul snuffers) make for a brilliant combo -- soul snuffers act as a bomb, and anything killed by the bomb becomes mine, and anything hit but not killed by the bomb just can't do anything.

Looks useful but every time i got to use it's effect the creature came back as a 0/0!

This is a great creature, cheap to play and a great effect in a deck that focuses on "degeneration"

If you can pull off this board position, you will be virtually impenetrable: Necroskitter, Quillspike, Midnight Banshee and Grim Poppet.
Remove the counters from the Poppet to pump the Quillspike every turn using the Banshee. In the meantime, the Necroskitter will get you anything the Banshee or Quillspike kills.

The only drawback of this thing is only 1 power... everything else is almost flawless; a shame it only works good with other Shadowmoor block cards.

Such a cool card. I have a whole deck based around it and it's really fun to play.

Here is my dilemma, say both me and my opponent control a Necroskitter and I Scar something... um... yeah... Wahwahweewuh?

There is no timestamp issue in the scenario hid@n is questioning. If you each have one on the battlefield you'll only gain control of creatures that hit the graveyard that were controlled by your opponent.

@CyberKnight what happens in a multiplayer game if two players have a necroskitter out and a 3rd player's creature dies with a -1/-1 counter on it? I assumed hid@n meant a multiplayer game when I answered although he may not have >_> anyway now I'm curious about the multiplayer scenario
On to the card, a great card, when I pulled mine out of the booster pack I was filled with joy and quickly sadness as I realized I only had 4 or 5 other cards able to place -1/-1 counters on things so I didn't immediately have a deck to run it in. Still fun to play around with, good toughness, can't be lightning bolted away and doom blades are useless against it, low power but the wither kind of makes up for it, unexpectedly low cost for such a good ability. 5/5

Hey, this thing just got insanely better with Scars! Proliferate turns it into a stealing machine, and you have new ways of giving -1/-1 counters and exploiting them.

According to a old Ask Wizards I can't seem to find anymore, the player who's turn is next or close to next gets it.
E.G.
Turn order: Player 1 Player 2 Player 3
Player's 2 and 3 have a Necroskitter, Player one has a Storm Crow with a -1/-1 counter on it, and it dies. Player 2 gets the Storm Crow because he's first in order.
I guess that works, thought it seems a little annoying.

Black Sun's Zenith, wipe the board and all your opponents creatures are yours.
Black Sun's Zenith, then Day of Judgment. WHERE ARE YOUR TOKENS NOW???

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.5/5.0)(1 vote)
Ah, yeah, this thing says whenever something dies with "a" -1/-1 counter on it. So if it has *two* -1/-1 counters on it, then it no longer has a single -1/-1 counter on it, and so doesn't come back. Any infect deck had better be backed up by normal troops as well if it wants to use this.
Please tell me I interpreted this wrong.

Question. In EDH, when a general dies and is sent to the graveyard, you have the option of sending it back to the command zone instead. Would Necroskitter intercede that effect if the general was sent to the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter on it?

You did indeed interpret completely wrong, Khavrion, and I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. If somebody asks you if you have a dollar, and you have five hundred dollars, would you say "No, I don't have a dollar."?

If two or more opponents control a Necroskitter and a creature dies with a -1/-1 counter on it, all of the Necroskitters will trigger, and then the triggers are stacked in turn order. This means that the trigger of the player who is last in turn order will resolve first, so they will get the creature if the want it (it's a "may" ability).
Assuming they do want it, the creature will enter the battlefield under the last player's control, and the other triggers will all resolve and do nothing, since the card they are looking for has moved zones.

Comments full of fail. Multiple Necroskitters - Triggered abilities go on the stack from left to right, starting with the active player. So bad news is that if you're the active player and cast Black Sun's Zenith, your trigger goes on the stack, then his, top of the stack resolves first, then your trigger looks for the same cards in the gy and can't find them. You lose out. Good news is that you get any creatures killed during your opponent's turn, or any killed during the turns of players to the right of both of you. Tip - sit the other Necroskitter player's right, if you know beforehand.
Infect - In English, the article "a" is an indefinite article, meaning that the noun modified is not a particular noun identifiable to the listener. Therefore, the effect doesn't refer to a single -1/-1 counter. In other words, it doesn't ask how many counters are on it. It only asks whether there's a counter or not. Infect deals damage in the form of -1/-1 counters, as does wither. Any of those counters satisifes the trigger, and multiples don't cancel it out.
Oh, this is good in a Doran infect deck.

Drop a Blowfly Infestation and you can steal several creatures at a time. And then late-game, bring it home with Pyrrhic Revival. So what if I use a bunch of one-toughness creatures? My Sickle Ripper and Fume Spitter may die immediately, but that's two more counters to help me swipe your guy. And even if Necroskitter's in the graveyard when the Revival hits, it still shows up in time for me to get whatever dies as a result.

Justice1337 is almost correct. He has his priority knowledge under control, except his sitting arrangements aren't always true. It's not the person to the right of you so much as the person who's turn it is next. Priority cares about turn order, not sitting arrangements. Your scenario, of people to the right, only applies if the players are playing counter-clockwise. If players are playing clockwise, it would be to your left. If there were five of you and you were playing pentagonal right, it would be the player on the opposite side of you, to your right.

How does wither work with infect? For example if a 1/1 with both wither and infect blocked a 2/2 would a) both wither and infect work and you manage to kill their creature. Or b) the abilitys don't stack and their creature then becomes a 1/1.

Frightening in any deck, moreso in a dedicated deck. Reusable psuedo-mind control is scary.
