@ majinara, the ability is actually quite powerful and in all honesty, at even 5 or 6 it would be worth playing in some decks. But I agree, 10 is just too much these days. In fact it was considered too much when I started playing in 1996 XD. However I suppose it does show that even sixteen years ago, it was understood how strong repeatable card advantage is.

Actually, nowadays thankfully we have master transmuter, which can actually make this card really good! If I could get one I would try making a deck with the two. Those two cards together could be great! You could draw what you need with aladdin's lamp and throw down your ornithopter's and put down your darksteel colossus, phyrexian colossus and whatever other huge stuff you have. Maybe even a sharding sphinx or sphinx sovereign.

Grim Monolith + Power Artifact makes this card a repeatable Vampiric Tutor without the life loss. Not the best combo, but interesting none the less.

Yes, you can artifact cheat it into play with oyur broken tinker or master transmuter, but why not just get a darksteel colossus or blightsteel colossus into play?

Soothsaying may be an easier option here. While it doesn't let you put cards away from the top, you can start arranging your library early instead of waiting for 10 mana for the Lamp.

anyone else notice how this card says "draw x cards"? Psychosis Crawler and Grand Architect and can win pretty easily. And with how much blue caters to finding artifacts it would be easy to pull off the combo.

This should honestly cost 0. If you want to have a choice of what to draw, you're paying 2 or 3 per turn just to activate the ability. Compare that to Sylvan Library or Sensei's Divining Top. So even with a casting cost of 0 this isn't that good.
