He is a good spirit with an exploitable ability (think Mana Breach and Overburden) but the moonfolks as a tribe are really weak.

This is exactly the kind of ability the moonfolk need. So many land-bouncing soratami, and only this to offset it.

Landfall cards are going to love this Patron :)

It looks like a giant-sliver-rabbit-demon eating a castle whilst being attacked by rockets! I can't decide if that's awesome or insane. Both.

OH NO! GIANT FLYING SNAKE-BUNNY! MAN THE HARPOONS!

This card got ridiculous with Worldwake. This plus Amulet of Vigor means you can pay 1 drop 2 lands and get to use them instantly.

horrible on it's own compared to the other patrons, but insane with all of the meloku-like creaures (1, bounce a land: do something).

I always wondered why this wasn't called Patron of the Soratami. I mean the other ones aren't called Patron of Rats or Patron of Snakes.

If you really don't like the idea of using him with moonfolk, just use him with shapeshifters. Maybe run with cards that animate lands.. could be used with Horn of Greed for card draw maybe?

I want to put him in a deck full of awesome landfall effects but he doesn't really fit all that well in anything I can think of. There are only 16 moonfolk in all of Magic so the tribal synergy isn't to great with this. On the other hand they all tend to work well in landfall decks and by offering Moonbow Illusionist or Soratami Rainshaper you can get this guy out turn 4.

I love this Guy, he is an awesome commander. When you combine him with the right cards you go infinite, along with adventuring gear he can general damage in one shot.

Wizards, let's please give Moonfolk tribal some more support?
Perfect art.

So someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but with an Amulet of Vigor and two of the Ravnica bounce lands, you can get infinite mana. Pay 1, drop two bounce lands, they enter the field untapped thanks to the amulet, tap them in response to their land-bouncing effects going off, floating four mana, just to spend one of it to drop them again. Heck, with just a SINGLE land you can get infinite since you can tap it for two and float one constantly.

Pretty much necessary in any Moonfolk deck. Jesus christ those guys kill tempo... And like many mechanics, Wizards didn't seem to realize how much of an effect this could have.

Plays well with ramp, as one of the rare land-ramping cards. And, of course, with the land-hungry Moonfolk. Kamigawa had an interesting color pie.

@tcollins No. Horn of Greed only triggers on *playing* a land, the land equivalent of casting a card.

I am sure johnny's have done some crazy things with this. I really am liking this cycle, but this one does not appeal to me as much. 4/5.

Also good for high-tide combos as you can use "return island to hand" costs or use him in casual for permanent ramp pretty easily.
Build up your mana, use him and any of the untappers that hit 3+ lands, untap the new islands, keep doing this as you draw into islands to make comboing out easier.

Okay! So I thought of an infinite mana any color combo with this card, Oboro Breezecaller, Lotus Vale, and two other lands on the field that don't bounce other land.
Step 1: Tap Lotsu Vale for three {W} {U} {B} {R} {G}. Step 2: Pay {2} to bounce misc. land with Oboro Breezecaller's ability. Untap Lotus Vale. One floating mana of the color tapped with Lotus Vale. Step 3: Repeat Step 1 than 2. Two mana floating of any color. Step 4: Pay {1} to place the two land you bounced into play with Patron of the Moon's ability. One mana of any color you choose left floating. Step 5: Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for infinite mana of any color combination!
Yay! I think I semi-redeemed Oboro Breezecaller, with it's absolutely GORGEOUS artwork!
Sorry for any formatting issues, and I'm sure someone else has though of this before, but I didn't see it posted up here so... And I know it's fragile, but hey! Who's gonna suspect Oboro Breezecaller as part of an infinite mana combo?
