Higher end mana cost is annoying, but the versatility is worth it. He is worth the cost to me since his ability costs no mana, he can function as an extra mana in a pinch, or a double tap for another creature, or a simple lockdown defense. He is worth investing the mana to get his effects for free.

I'd like to combo him with Cabal Coffers. If you've got (normal) lands every round, you can in theory get 3+3+5 (11) mana in round 5.
A very underrated guy. At worst he's a reflecting pool and Icy manipulator. At best he can untap the ravnica bouncelands, untap Obelisk of Alara and other powerful cards that tap for something.
It's taken a lot of years before they finally made a card that can tap or untap just a permanent at zero cost. It's a shame it isn't played more. He's even a twiddle if someone kills him off.

Love this guy. Central card in my High Tide infinite mana deck. I use draw/discard cards like Careful Study and brainstorm/ponder in combo with Predict to get him in my GY and keep my hand up, and then if my opponent is tapped out on my third turn, I'll cast High tide, unearth him and drop a Pemmin's Aura, go infinite (mana, and untapping permanents, mind you) and use whatever I want to kill my opponent: Millstone, Goblin Cannon, Oona, Queen of the Fae or just good old Ambassador Laquatus. Fun stuff.

Extremely versatile card. The combo with Royal Assassin is obvious, but he also accelerates your mana production by untapping lands, protects against big combat threats and allows all sorts of combos with various tap abilities.

The only zombie intentionally designed to not interact with black mana or swamps at all. (Reef Pirates only became a zombie during the creature type update.)

An interesting use for this guy would be in those Blue-Green self mill decks I've been seeing around lately.
can have quite a few uses, a few I can think of:
1.get rid of a blocker for 1 blue
2. enable a creature or artifact combo of your choice
Equip it with Illusionist's Bracers while you have Unbender Tine (or any other {T}: Untap target creature/permanent) out. Tap or untap anything you can target whenever you want, for free.
