would this card work with Veteran of the Depths to make a huge creature?

@PEVE_O: Yes, this card would make the veteran into a huge creature; a very epic combo, good insight.

Third turn extended win card... This is so sick!

Where did I put my Grimoire Thief?

There is no infinite combo involving this card; to use its ability you tap the enchantment, not the creature itself, ergo if you tap it to untap your creature, the enchantment will not untap with it. Instil Energy does the same thing with a lower casting cost.

I made the same mistake upon reading this card.

No infinite combo with it? I beg to differ. This on a Tidewater Minion with a Wake Thrasher gives you an inf/inf creature... Lame combo, but still.

To expand on PEVE_O's combo: This+Freed from the Real/Pemmin's Aura+the Vet=ridonkulously big creature!

Or with Judge of Currents to gain infinite life.

@PEVE_O, SavageBrain89, Test-Subject_217601:

While this can produce several infinite combos, those aren't them. You have to look at why this card is "futureshifted". It's futureshifted because it's a enchantment that taps itself. It doesn't tap the creature. So Veteran of the Depths doesn't get more than 1 +1/+1 counter a turn with it.

One of the more profoundly weird cards I've seen. Aura tapping is an amazing mechanic.

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the AURA gets tapped, not the creature. I've had this card in my collection for YEARS wondering what the hell it did.

I always thought it read like this: "Tap this creature: tap this creature" then i would say "wtf?"

makes more sense now. still not a good card anyway

The only problem with this card is its a balanced freed from the real. Actually with the aura card disadvantage it needs Totem Armor, or cantrip when it dies to make it viable. Still an efficient sorcery speed removal that can deal with any non shrouded creature.

I think this particuler enchantment comes from Kaldheim, due that plane apparently being Norse mythology inspired ("Kaldheim" literally means "Coldhome" in my native language of Norwegian), and this card also being obviously Norse inspired (due to the clothes the woman in the illustration is wearing, and due to the fact that "Vindr" means "Winds" in Norse, I think).

@rubber: You don't even need Second Wind for that; Tidewater Minion can just untap itself.
