kind of a fund dude, Lord of the Pit Meets token generator. He is REALLY expensive and eventually kills himself, but its a fun card

This card is great with Lord Of The Pit or any Devour card. You could always build a non zombie deck with Death Barron to power up the zombies. The price is a bit high for me though even fo a 6/6 flyer with trample.

a 6/6 flying trampler for 7, hmm expensive and if you dont have a non-zombie you really just paid 7 for a 2/2 zombie

but the rules say that if you dont have any non zombies, you cant sacrifice, but you still get a token

hmm, maybe that Runed Stalactite could help, a 7/7 flying trampling free token generator, requires 9 mana the turn he come out, or maybe some way to revive it early hmmm

If you build a deck with only zombies for creatures... this will just spit our zombies.

Except that if all of your creatures are Zombies, it's just going to eat itself, so the "spit out Zombies" notion doesn't really work unless you can consistently bounce it.

Might work in conjunction with another token generator like Puppet Conjurer to turn 1/1 Homunculi into 2/2 Zombies.

it costs too much and i think that he is very useless...come on the game must end long before this guy enters the battle field+i`ll say it again...it is useless

I use this guy with Springjack Shepherd. I don't know how 0/1 goats become 2/2 zombies, but they do!

A good card but it costs too much. May be used well in recursion decks using Rise from the Grave to turn it into a zombie.

Nicol Bolas pulled a nasty combo on me in DotPW using this and Prince of Thralls.

Basically, just sacrifice your opponent's stolen creatures, then steal them again.

archdemon of unx: because a zombie conspiracy is the best kind.

although ally conspiracies have been known to get pretty crazy as well.

This + Conspiracy + Death Baron = Deathtouching zombie factory.
Most likely you won't need too much more than a 6/6 flying trampler anyway.
Combine token generation with "to the graveyard" effects and you have some pretty nasty combos. The hardest part is getting 7 mana, which for black really isn't that hard.

He turns my eldrazi spawn (awakening zone) into zombies.
Still... Meh.

This guy has some really nice synergy with Pawn of Ulamog. You effectively get 2 tokens everytime a creature is sacrificed, as long as it isn't a token you're sacrificing.

For old-school cards, Breeding Pit makes a nice match. Abything with unearth is a good fit as well.

Very underrated card when played the right way. Play something likeRotting Rats, discard this and later revive him with Rise from the Grave. Gives your zombiedeck a neat 2/2 generator, and not to mention a wicked 6/6 flying trample body.

Great with Nim Deathmantle. When he eats himself you can immediatly bring him back and he will make an endless supply of zombies, he is in my zombie deck along with Grave Titan.

I'm not a fan of this card. In limited, you had to work hard to make sure that it didn't eat itself. Paying 7 for a 2/2 zombie is never worth it.

Still, it's interesting with token generators, although it's a tad expensive for what it does.

Should have been a Zombie Demon. The way it is now I hardly feel inclined to use it.

too expensive in the face of beeing all in all (not strictly) inferior to the grave titan, theoretical synergy with supply like Awakening Zone or conversion like conspiracy or Nim Deathmantle, but costly

The Grey Warden of Fereldon killed it. Just saying.

When you think about the Dragon Age Archdemon and this, they are really similar, although the one in Dragon Age didn't need to sacrifice it's allies in order to produce darkspawn.

While others have noted the good synergy with Rise from the Grave and Nim Deathmantle, I'd discard it (along with something else that's useful in your graveyard) with Zombie Infestation to get it into your graveyard rather than hardcast it and have it eat itself for Nim Deathmantle.

Rotting Rats is nice and does cause others to discard a card, but unless you're running a dedicated discard deck (in which case you won't be using this), I'd prefer getting a slightly larger Zombie token for roughly the same cost, because if you're playing zombies you should have plenty of ways to use the extra card you'll have to discard. Zombie Infestation also sets you up for other combos involving grabbing cards from the graveyard, while Rotting Rats only gives you a 1/1 with Unearth for the cost.

Reassembling Skeletons is a nice idea, but I'd rather pay 1B (Zombie Infestation or Rotting Rats) and 4B (Rise from the Grave) once than pay 5BB (Hardcasting this) once and 1B (Reassembling Skeletons) every turn.

Either way though, if you're running Rise from the Grave, you should only be hardcasting this in rare circumstances. Though, if using Nim Deathmantle, you'll need to get it into play somehow (likely hardcasting it) before that'll help you.

problem with Nim Deathmantle and this =
the equipment makes HIM a zombie, so he doesn't keep a steady flow of zombies coming every upkeep.
it does keep him from killing himself tho, which is maybe good... but, it's not going to work with "When he eats himself you can immediatly bring him back " more than once.

"the equipment makes HIM a zombie, so he doesn't keep a steady flow of zombies coming every upkeep.
"

Yes, he does keep a steady flow of zombies coming. You'll still get a 2/2 zombie during your upkeep even if nothing is sacrificed, which is exactly why you'd equip him with Nim Deathmantle so that he would never have to sac himself.

Pretty good creature for its color/cost... 6/6 flying trampler for 7 isn't nothing to laugh at, specially if zombified by Rise from the Grave. And it's got a lot of sinergy with Reassembling Skeleton and Grave Pact. Its a perfect fattie for a black budget deck.

EDIT: And then, when I noticed I still get a token even if nothing is sacrificed, it became impossible not to add this to my Zombie deck.

An interesting card, but not actually an army maker. It's an army....filterer. That's new. Eh, I've got better things to do with Kaalia. Love the art though.

Eldrazi Spawn.

This card now reads, "At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice your 0/1, add 1 mana of any color to your mana pool, and put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield under your control."

This especially combos well with Awakening Zone, if you put it out one turn before the Archdemon, since you won't be running out of spawns.

Sure it's not the best combo, but a 2/2 immune to Doom Blade every turn? Not too shabby.

This card is kinda-sorta-viable if you equip it with a Nim Deathmantle, because of the ruling stating that if you control no non-zombie creatures, then you won't sacrifice and will still get a zombie. So it sticks a zombie on your field for free and it's a 6/6 flying trampler. So...it's okay, if you get the perfect card to pair it with.
...meh.

You can't sac a creature for two different things. It would be like using one {B} for two different spells, the sacrifice is a cost too

Runed Stalactite and just keep the zom-bags instead of eventually ssc'n him to himself. Then you can truly have a zombie deck that is an endless swarm.

Should be a Zombie Demon...flavor doesn't make sense otherwise.

"Master, it is done. Your ranks are now that of the undead."
"Not quite."
"...oh, yes, you're right. *suicide, turns into a zombie*"
