it's a good card if your playing white and or black/white with the activated spirit ability costs.

its a good card if you play it for three white. its a ok card if you play it for four. its not so good at five, and awful at six.

Ugh I love this card! Everyone loves Dragons Fodder. But this is only a 4.2/5???? 3 mana for 3 1/1's with flying??? Sick.

I don't understand the interest in this card, even at 3 mana per 3 white tokens, there are several cards that do almost if not exactly the same thing and do it better. Bitterblossom, supply and demand, sprouting thrinax. If you want something that costs a little more, but has a better effect you also have captain of the watch, mycoloth, dragon broodmother, and etc. It's never bad to add 3 chump blockers to your side of the field when you need them, but at the same time I think this card is over rated.

Donovan, it good because if you use Teysa, Orzhov Scion in your deck it can provide chump blockers and it can also provide spot removal also unlike the other cards you named it doesn't a) make you bleed life each turn or b) cost 3 different colors and it can be played early so early game its a very good card but late game it's most likely going to be less useful then the other cards you named

This is good because they all have flying.

So obscenely good.

Yeah, the flying makes all the difference, 3 1/1 with flying for 3 mana is amazing, anyone not seeing it should use it in play and see for themselves.

It's good because at the time it was new, It was a huge threat for cheap that other decks struggled against. Ajani Goldmane made them flying 2/2 beaters, and Glorious anthem made them bigger still. You could deal with the tokens but then be vulnerable to another one or more threats. And it is so versatile, it could fit many deck archetypes

Its good because its 3 creatures (with flying) for ONE CARD.

its good because its 3 mana for 3 creatures. Crusade and Honor of the Pure make it beat face.

Turn 1) Plains. Steppe Lynx
Turn 2) Plains. Honor of the Pure. Swing with a 3/4 cat.
Turn 3) Plains. Spectral Procession. That's three 2/2 fliers and a 3/4 cat on turn 3.

Follow that up with another Honor of the Pure, or a Glorious Anthem and you're set for the game. They'll have to actually use removal on your tokens, which nobody likes to do.

Since it's not an amazing card on it's own, I give it a 4/5.
Three 1/1 fliers is nice, but not amazing. It'll get by with a little help from its friends though. ;)

Overpowered. Three 1/1s with flying are in most cases better than one 3/3 with flying, because of synergy with anthem effects. Three creatures for one card also dodge all the Bolts and Doomblades much better than a single creature, whereas pretty much the only thing that hurts this more than a 3/3 was Volcanic Fallout.

I played this a lot, I played against this a lot, and I hated it for how much of a bully this card was. If you dare not even print a straight 3/3 flyer for 1WW, then don't take a leap and print something like this.

Efficient. Stand Alone. Synergy Potential. Flexible. Defensive. Offensive.
What more could you want?!

Check out the top 8 deck lists for standard at Pro Tour Kyoto in Feb 2009:

5 out of 8 decks had four of these, while Bitterblossom was only in 3 of the decks (two decks had both).

It also fills a crucial hole in white flying decks at the 3 mana mark. The some total of white, efficient, flying 3 drops include this and Flickerwisp (Skyhunter Skirmisher get an honorable mention).

This is a great option for "Parfait" mono-white decks in Legacy, which otherwise lack flying critters. It's basically a card advantage generator, in a subtle way, since it puts three bodies in the air for one card. That's huge in Parfait, which only has Scrying Sheets + Snow-Covered Plains for mild card advantage (and some people don't even bother with that since it's so hit-or-miss). Procession pairs well with Island Sanctuary, Moat, and Luminarch Ascension (you can stave off attacks with the tokens until your Angel generator comes online). Those enchantments are pretty standard Parfait defense. I usually hold off with Procession until after I board-sweep with Wrath of God -- it's nice to be able to hold back only one card in my hand, knowing that will generate three post-sweep creatures for me.

I switched over to a W/B build for Bitterblossom and Dark Confidant, both of which pair poorly with Spectral Procession (its WhiteWhiteWhite cost is not amenable to a multicolor build, paying 2WhiteWhite is unsatisfactory, and you lose 6 life drawing it with Confidant), but if I had kept mono-white I'd still be sideboarding a Procession or two. Note that a Procession token trades with Vendilion Clique, and three tokens hold off a Marit Lage for three turns, which made Parfait really fun to play when lots of folks were trying to make that Vampire Hexmage combo work. :)

Essential to my Spirit Token deck, being just slightly better than Midnight Haunting. Use with Twilight Drover for a never ending trickle of tokens onto the battlefield!

The flexibility is nice, but any mono-white will abuse this to now end.

It's good because anyone who understands the game can look at it and understand why it's good without even having to read everyone's: "It's good because.." lol

Turn 3 this, turn 4 Ajani Goldmane and turn 5 Cloudgoat Ranger was pretty much the norm for white decks at the time. Black/White tokens could also do a turn 2 Bitterblossom in addition to the above mentioned.
