A must-have on green enchantment decks. Plus, I love the dryad in the art.

I have fun with these cards, but they are also harder to play. Something else has to be enchanted already or it does nothing, however, in a green deck you can enchant your lands first then play this on your creature. Overall, I find its one of the best enchantments because you don't have to enchant the creature the mask is attached to more than once, you can enchant your other creatures and the mask still gives the first one you enchanted more attack power for having another enchantment in play.

I sometimes play this on Yavimaya Enchantress. It makes a pretty big creature when there ar just 2 or 3 enchantments.

Imagine this on an Aura Gnarlid.

I kinda love this card. In an aggressive GW enchantment deck, this is what allows creatures to have 30-40 power in only a few turns. Not practical, maybe, but terribly fun.

Also, yes, the dryad pictured looks like a MISCHEVIOUS LITTLE CUTIE.

Back when I was very raw, with just a few booster packs to my name, I started enrolling in Type II tournaments not having a clue what I was doing. On a good night my opponents would get mana screwed and I'd win a game or two.

The first deck I had any success with consisted of playing as many enchantments as possible and putting this on a decent critter. I probaably played ten standard tournaments while Masques was legal, each with a variation of "critter + Ancestral Mask + every other enchantment I have".

It was surprisingly good, mainly because of the power of this card. Multicolor was a pain in Masques, but was made easy with Invasion; at that point I'd accelerate with Wild Growths and Fertile Grounds, plop out a few more utility enchantments and then play Ancestral Mask and Diplomatic Immunity on some little flier or something. I never came close to winning, but by Odyssey I'd always be in the middle of the rankings by playing this card in what was never more than a $30 deck.

Shielding Plax.

rhystic study if multiplayer.

take care of business with o-ring, pacifism, etc.

Fix mana with Fertile Ground.

Add Rancor, Armadillo Cloak, etc.

This plus Armadillo Cloaks and Shield of the Oversoul have won me many a game in my Aura deck.
People get ***ed when you're hitting them for 30 lifelink/trample.

Play Enchanted Evening and slowly explain to your opponent how your creature now gets +2+2 for each permanent on the table.

Sorry, How is this good? Does nothing without other enchantments, and creates card disadvantage.

@Kirbster: If it was today, this card might even be practical. See how Ethereal Armor is played in Bant Hexproof.

I was trying to explain to one of my friends who just started Magic that enchant creatures, unless they can return to your hand (Rancor for instance) end up becoming very punishing to removal as they simultaneously make a creature a threat, and put all your eggs in one basket. He was looking through my collection and found a playset of these, and asked well, what about them? He also pulled out a bunch of Blanchwood Armors and Ethereal Armors. I had to revise my uppity stance on Enchant Creatures then and there. Also, gnarly artwork.

I first found this card when building my Uril EDH deck. It's a decent card, and it could possibly see a reprint in Journey into Nyx. This would be amazing in Theros limited, considering all the enchantment creatures in Theros block. It probably won't be reprinted, but one can dream.
