Finally, the card I was looking for! Now I can give my Kor Spiritdancer—wait, does that say 8 mana?

Oh well. Should be cool in EDH at least.

This... Should not exist... this is stupidly unfun in Commander, and way to slow for anything but *Save Limited*. It really should have been trample, not hexproof

Don't get why this is rated so low, it's a fantastic card for EDH. I'm definitely including this in my mono-green as soon as I can manage.

HA
8 MANA
You always make me laugh, Wizards.
Sorry, Timmy, but I think this would be a lot better if it wasn't a 6/5, maybe a 2/3 for 5? Then it would be great in Limited, but a little broken in EDH.

Makes Glaring Spotlight seem pretty efficient at hexproof hosing.

Green really got hosed in BotG, to be honest.

Green should have gotten trample.

Red should have gotten first strike.

White should have gotten lifelink.

Nobody should have gotten flying, but if someone had to, i guess it should have been blue.

Black should have gotten undying. Or persist. Or unearth. Or intimidate. Or flanking. Anything other than deathtouch especially for the crappy card it was printed with.

Yes, "Endurance." That is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Hexproof. Not invisibility, speed, religious significance, rent for the night, awe-inspiring scope, or whatever the heck makes Lumberknot so special.

To those complaining that it isn't trample: every green card ever grants trample.

Definitely has potential as a reanimator target in EDH.
Outside shot as a reanimator/ cheat-into-play target/ sideboard card in Legacy.
Possibly interesting pauper EDH commander.

But really, I just like how they printed a "Screw Hexproof" card that just happens to let you abuse hexproof.

Hardly broken in EDH, if anything barely playable in EDH, next to the likes of Asceticism and Privileged Position.

My mono-green ramp deck's main weakness is vulnerability to removal. This changes everything. 5/5.

@Purplerooster When the heck did Glaring Spotlight ever NOT seem efficient at hexproof hosing??? 0_0 It's freaking one colorless mana. But for those who think this card makes thing unfun, I would have to agree with you to an extent, as Glaring Spotlight is my most hated card of all time for that reason alone. However, since wizards decided to make this whole anti-hexproof thing (seems like an oxymoron), I feel like this is DEFINITELY the card that it should have been: A color specific, hugely expensive thing, that also still appealed a little to people who like hexproof, because it gives it to all your guys.

All in all, I despised Glaring Spotlight and raged for weeks after it came out, but I don't mind this card at all.

I'm gonna grab one of these for my commander Animar deck. It will make dealing with my friends Lazav easier.

@Hunter06 et al.: WotC said this doesn't give trample because they didn't want overlap with Nylea.

That said, I'm leery of this, simply because, high mana cost or not, the mere effect might as well have the additional quality of "You have the Flagbearer creature type". I don't fancy crosshairing myself quite like that.

I am glad this abomination of a card costs 8 mana so it's not going to see play in any relevant format. God I hate hexproof.

Sorry people Wizards didn't give you "insane broken card that would have destroyed standard." Hexproof is crazy good, look at Invisible Stalker. The ability to give all your creatures Hexproof while removing Hexproof from their creatures is insane. Yes 8 mana is steep but do you think a 2/2 with this ability would not be an auto include in every green deck for 3? Right now it is not hard to have 5 mana on turn 2 for green with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Burning-Tree Emissary to cast Arbor Colossus. At 8 this requires 4 Emissaries to pull a turn 2 and another 2 green drop to pull a turn 3. I assume that Wizard originally play tested this card at 6 like the Archetype of Finality and Archetype of Imagination and found it too easy to get out on turn 3. At that point it leaves most standard decks with 8 or more dead draws. I think this is fair priced given the cards in standard, mostly because of Emissary.

Honestly this is a boring effect that had to be costed out of playability to make it fair. I understand the design dilemma, but I don't much like the card.

Maybe its time green got another evergreen keyword or two.

Asceticism and Privileged Position might cost 5 compare to the 8 for this creature, but they do not protect themselves, so you simply need to destroy the enchantement and your creature are vulnerable once more.

Like many other creature giving indestructibility to OTHER creature you control, or giving shroud/hexproof to OTHER creature you control, you then need to protect that creature who became the only legit target for all creature control spell.

This creature offer the best protection of them all. The only answer to this creature is a mass removal spell like wrath of god Day of judgement or anger of the god and within a green deck a lot of creature should be able to survive mass damage spell, leaving only mass destroy spell available

This is a green creature, Green is the master of mana ramp: between Lotus Cobra, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Elvish Mystic, Karametra's Acolyte, Xenagos, the Reveler etc... and many many more, 8 mana can be casted very early

I just wish this was a Wolf instead of a Boar so I could put it in my Raised By Wolves deck. Honestly, Hexproof fits wolves more than boars! Look at Sacred Wolf!

If this card would cost any less mana, I would punch someone at R&D right in the nuts. 6 Mana and Shroud would've been debatable, but Hexproof? That's not fun.

And don't think it's useless in Limited, I've seen the 10/10 Colossus in action at several events before.

I was playing EDH and my opponent cast this card. Shenanigans ensued involving
Lapse of Certainty and Daxos of Meletis, and he ended up on my side of the field on my turn.

Great in EDH, too expensive in regular play. 3.5/5

I've got a Tooth and Nail deck that revolves around cheating fatties in via elvish piper/quicksilver amulet or T&N obviously (or hardcasting them with mana ramp elves)

This creature is a pretty good pick for one of the 2 creatures you get to choose when you cast T&N. My favorite card to pair him with is Avacyn (indestructible hexproof?! Aww yeah).
