Even a 1/1, controlling and destroying creature is so awesome!

Combinate this with something that untaps your permanents and destroy all your opponents creatures one by one! I like that! And if you can't untap, controlling an enemy for 3 mana is epic win. 4.5/5

Puppet Strings could do nicely.

I use this with Freed from the Real. Controlling and destroying as many creatures as you have blue mana each turn is beautiful.

Her ability to steal, and repeatedly destroy, enemy creatures is powerful on a three-mana creature.

Keep in mind, though, that if you don't have a way to reliably untap her, she'll stay tapped - long after the opposing creature you stole has died.

A card that has become much more powerful with age.

As mentioned: Freed from the Real.

Let's not forget, blink effects work great with this card too.

Interestingly, you can use her to steal an indestructible creature -- and if you then have a way to untap her, it stays on your side (as long as you keep her alive, anyway.)

Every time I read this card's name, all I hear is Krusty the Clown yelling "Me rikey vely much!!"

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Norritt yet to combo with Merieke. Also from Ice Age, this way you can control the battlefield while staying in set.
