Nice anti-boardwipe tech for my Rhys the Redeemed EDH.

Great with undying creatures, splashable, but I would've liked to see it cheaper and on a smaller body.

While I would have preferred a 3/3 flyer for 2WhiteWhite, this is very nice, and makes a good finisher in many types of decks

I love that it doesn't say NON-TOKEN. This means all your elf/zombie/soldier/ and somehow skeleton tokens can upgrade into flying beaters.

Becomes nuts with twilight drover and a sac engine, not to mention turning your chump blocking saprolings and squirrels into their ghost form ready to die again for glory. I like this VERY much, and can see a nice hole in my EDH deck this can fill.

A few problems with this card:

1) Expensive to cast.
2) Ability requires at least one other non-spirit creature to work.

A deck using enough creatures don't need her, a control deck that could cast her late game doesn't use enough creatures to make it worthwhile.

Flying.
Humanfall - Whenever a Human dies put a 1/1 flying Spirit Token onto the battlefield.

3/3 Angel

I wish the Angels did more for the humans. Angelic Overseer and Mikaeus the Lunarch are about the only cards that actively imply human prayer=angelic power. Both Are mythic.

Take Falkenrath Aristocrat for example, it eats humans (like vampires are known to do) and is mythic. You also get falkenrath torturer and that rare specter vampre, all of which have the same sacrificial human theme. Angels lack that in innestrad, and that's a huge flavor disconnect.

Not a fan of cards that make up for their cool abilities with higher costs, because then Wizards raises the p/t and it's basically a beatstick.

Emeria Angel produces non-spirit 1/1 tokens. Skullclamp likes to kill x/1 creatures. Requiem Angel likes to give you more x/1 creatures. Now if only I can get them all out in my Kaalia of the Vast Commander deck, because that thing needs card advantage badly.

quick question, if i have 10 creatures and someone cast a random "destroy every creature", do i create 10 spirit token? since every creature dies at the same moment with her i think so...

Don't be ridiculous! Eldrazi spawn don't have souls.

Ghave, guru of spores loves him some free upgrades.

"so you attacking me with fliers? ....Gimme a sec.."

would have rather seen a 4/4 body for 5 instead, but can't complain. Pity she doesn't come out faster.

Conspiracy set to anything but spirit makes all your other creatures invincible 1/1 flyers. Plus I'm sure there's some sort of infinite combo once you find the right sac outlet...like Altar of Dementia

Requiem Angel.
Parallel Lives.
Any sort of sac engine.
A decent number of creatures.
Fresh Meat.
Fresh Meat again.

Fun, if not entirely playable.

@RAV0004: Don't forget that these first two sets are about the dwindling power of the human's faith and the symbols that represent it. Without Avacyn, the angels are lost. It won't be until next set where the angels really get to shine, if they do at all.

Great card! But I'm surprised that it's not a 4WW, rather than 5W. It seems like you'd have one W for the Angel herself, and another W for her ability. Any thoughts?

I just pulled two of these. It's a pretty good card, nothing flashy on it as a card, but I am a big fan of it's art and name.

Xenograft + this = STANDARD BRUSHWAGG TRIBAL COMBO?
Or I guess you could make em humans if that's your fancy.

And why has no one taken a minute to remember the good old days when Artificial Evolution was the answer to all the problems... Artificial Evolution is way cheaper and more efficient than Conspiracy all day. Guessing that only a few veterans of magic even looked at this card such as myself.

Now, I know what the intent of this card is, but couldn't non-spirit also be interpreted as any creature that has a type besides spirit? And if that were the case, couldn't one use this ability on a creature that was, say, a spirit elf?

I guess I'm looking for the comp rules section where it lays out what non-x means. Thanks!

Thopter Assembly!

My major issue with this card is that it comes out late. Typically this means one of a few scenarios

1) The creatures you have that are dying are relatively strong (2/2, 3/3, 4/4) because you have already sacrificed all of your lower level creatures by this point. If that is the case then you drop a 4/4 for a 1/1, at least you get something in return to keep you alive, hopefully long enough to churn out a win.
2) If you still have all of your lower powered creatures its because they are winning and your opponent for whatever reason can't stop them, hence the reason they still live and if that's the case this cards ability won't do you much and its simply an over costed 5/5 flyer.
3) The chumps or weenies you have on the board are tokens, in which case this card is win!

To me it feels like this ability works best with cards that die easily or often, can be easily regenerated, and creatures whose P/T are not so high that replacing it with a 1/1 doesn't feel like as much a smack in the face as losing that creature to begin with. If I'm going to invest 4 or 5 mana into a creature its because I don't plan on losing it and thus don't WANT to take advantage of this ability and it becomes a kind of safety net. HOWEVER, Thopter Assembly fills this role nicely. At 6 mana they drop at a similar time frame meaning you've not likely lost either one yet. Thopter Assembly nets you 1/1 flyers which die and...turn into 1/1 fliers! You also get a 5/5 flier with it. Once all of your 1/1 thopters have turned into 1/1 spirits, drop five more thopters for a total of, if you haven't lost any spirits, 10 1/1 fliers with TWO 5/5 fliers backing them up. All type 2 legal. Through in Victories Herald and you have three 5/5 fliers backing up several 1/1 token fliers and if you swing with it all everything gets lifelink. Then there is Hellrider...

I love this card with any token generator, any sac spell, and either Doubling Season, or Parallel Lives if I have to keep it type-two. Favorite: Essence of the Wild. Sure I'll sac a 6/6 avatar in favor of the effects of a spell and at least one 1/1 flying spirit which comes in as a 6/6 avatar. This could also be fun with Pentavus.
