I was the first person to vote on this version - I'm glad the website now includes cards from the Commander sets!

While I love this card in most formats, I'm concerned about the impact of tutors on Commander. I prefer a Commander deck that never knows what it's going to get, except for the Commander itself.

WE all know what this card does by now, and it's uses. THings I want to say here:
1. New border looks good, I love when old cards are reprinted with the new border and it makes you appreciate the new border more.

2. How just totally good this art is. IMO this art is top 5 in the whole game. It's just crazy, the forced perspective of being down in a grave like that, with people throwing dirt on you while the Cabal Patriarch just stands there coldly looking down on you? And you reach your hands up but you're being BURIED ALIVE anyway- it's just SICK. This art is SICK. (in the good way)

The deck this in also runs Brawn and Wonder. These two are surprisingly good targets for this spell, especially if your plan is Mimeoplasm Beatdown.

mmmmmmm I sure hope this little diddy's price goes down that tad bit from being reprinted. I would love a playset of these bad boys.

wait a sec- they reprinted WHAT??! wow- this reminds me of the time they put Grim Lavamancer in PDS: F&L.

Maybe a hint that Buried Alive could actually be in M12? 13? oh 13 would be sweeeet. spooky, lol. for the black graveyard card.

I was looking for this card for my Sharuum the Hegemon EDH Deck. I bought the Mimeoplasm Commander Deck and I run it in both. Today I put a Master Transmuter, Inkwell Leviathan, and Filigree Angel in my graveyard with this, then cast Sharuum and brought back the Transmuter and kept bouncing the Sharuum until they were all out of the graveyard. I won that game with 77 life. 4.5*

Innistrad reprint, perhaps?

This is damn near broken in the current format but casual play, any deck should really run these as long as they aren't permission.

This card + Dark Ritual is the backup plan for reanimation decks if they don't draw Entomb in their opening hand:

Turn 1: Swamp, Dark Ritual, this
Turn 2: Swamp, Exhume, GG

Some of the most common reanimate targets include Iona, Shield of Emiria, Empyrial Archangel and (if you get the Dark Ritual + Buried Alive on turn 1) Bladewing, the Risen + another dragon of your own choice, all of which are pretty much instant wins.

My favorite use of this card is the following :
-
T1 : Swamp, Dark Ritual, Buried Alive (search for Bladewing the Risen, Dragon Tyrant and Anger)
T2 : Mountain, Exhume Bladewing. The Tyrant comes into play too, with Bladewing's ability. Swing for 16 with both.
T3 : Enemy has 4 life left. Bladewing's a 4/4. The rest is up to you.

I like this because it combines my inner Johnny (Dragon reanimation combo), my inner Timmy (BIG DRAGON TYRANT!BBQLOLZ!) and my inner Spike (Turn 2 damage is, without a doubt, SUPER EFFECTIVE). All wrapped up in one.

In Mimeoplasm Commander, the three cards you should always be searching for with this are Wonder, Filth, and Brawn.
