Good or not (it is, though a tad overcosted), I think this is one of the best-looking foils in the whole deck.

Run it with Comet Storm.

Wile 5 is a bit much. Hit 6 for Red is just brutal!

I'm sorry, but 5 mana is not too much for this guy. He's a 4/3 for gods sake! Totally sexy.

Am I correct in saying that running this guy with Furnace of Rath would make every red spell of yours packs 4 times the damage?

This would definitely turn Goblin Grenade Into Gobin Nuclear Bomb instead - 20 damage with 1 mana. Lightning Bolt hits for 12. Use with Chandra Ablaze for extreme overkill with her ultimate ability!

Oh. And Pyromancer Ascension.

@Arachnos, whilst I think we would all agree that if it did it would be overpowered, I think it does not. I suspect that it affects the original damage and duplicates it. e.g. Two Fire Servants, Lightning Bolt, rather than dealing 3 X 2 X 2, it would deal 3 X 3, the original damage (3) being multiplied by both spells individually (not stacking) so, an extra 3 from one of the Fire Servants, and an extra 3 three from the other. However I am not sure if this specific ability would work in this way, so it remains an interesting, potentially game winning problem.

Arachnos, the card's rulings themself state that this card stacks with itself at the following rate: 2^x, where X is the number of Fire Servants in play. That means that your Furnace of Wrath combo does indeed quadruple all damage, since 2^x is the same rate for Furnace. Basically, this card can be easy kill-shot. ESPECIALLY if you get four of this guy out. That's 2^4, or 16 times base damage. Using the Furnace increases this to a total of no LESS than 256 times the base damage of the instant or sorcery. No matter how you slice it, this guy kills. FAST.

So wish this one made it into M12, not going to even bother with burn decks without this beauty.

If you seen the art from the back, you'll see a sign someone stuck on his back that reads "Kill me."

I'd play it for the effect alone. The fairly competent 4/3 body is just icing.

A lot less dangerous than Furnace of Wrath. When I got two of these I stripped the furnaces out of my burn deck and replaced them, prompting an evolution from plain burn to a burn/elemental deck as I also added in a couple of Soulbright Flamekins and Flamekin Harbingers amongst others, which has been working out a lot better for me.

@Just1Micky:

The rulings for multiple instances of Fire Servant are the same as those for Furnace of Rath.

"8/15/2010 If you control more than one Fire Servant, the effects are cumulative. Two such effects will cause damage from red instant or sorcery spells you control to be multiplied by four; three such effects will cause damage from red instant or sorcery spells you control to be multiplied by eight."

So, theoretically, with 4x Fire Servants and 4x Furnaces of Rath, you could get a сumulative 2^8x (or 256x) multiplier on any red instants or sorceries you cast. A Lightning Bolt cast under these conditions would deal a ridiculous 768 damage for {R}.

Hmmm. I'm thinking a casual deck where this guy and Hostility are the best of friends.

Excellent. Works perfectly in the vast majority of Burn decks.
@just1micky Actually, no. It's doubled for each Fire Servant. IE Lightning bolt with one is six, lightning bolt with two is 12, and lightning bolt with 3 is 24.

If you copy this several times, any burn spell could kill your opponent in one hit.

One of my favorite 2HG victories of all time, one of the opponents had one of these guys on the field, and the other opponent had just pulled off some massive infinite token combo. Everyone was about to start packing up the game, but I insisted on one last turn... and I drew a Rite of Replication. I kicked it for 5 Fire Servants of my own, and the guy with the original just threw his head back in defeated "Oh man what have I done" laughter. Lightning Bolt, sweet victory.

Slow and janky. If your burn deck hasn't won by the time this thing hits, you are going to lose really, really badly. Best in some sort of red midrange deck that uses a lot of burn, so until that's a thing, this thing isn't going to see real play.

Neat in a casual environment, though.
