Has anyone noticed the art similarities between this and redirect? its like the red mage in reverberate is firing at the blue mage on redirect.

Is it possible to copy a counter and counter itself?

@Manspider:
"Is it possible to copy a counter and counter itself?"

Yup. As long as it that counter is a legal counter for itself (so you can't use Reverberate to counter Remove Soul, for instance).

Watch out for exploding Goblins.

I agree that this card feels like Redirect's sister or something.

Blue manipulates the opponents' plan to work in their favor instead. Red just says "Hey, I can do that too, watch this!"

Fork is back!!! XD

Awesome card is awesome. So very useful in so many situations. The fun part is, most people will intially just think to copy red burn spells, but really, the potential is so far beyond that. Blue/Red builds just got a major boost.

It's more like

Red Mage: 'I can do that too, watch this!'

Blue Mage: 'That's nice dearie, but can YOU survive it?'

I'll never really understand the need to make an exact copy of an older card instead of reprinting it. I mean, I guess you could technically run eight forks in one deck now (and throw in four twincast and a mirari for good measure), but that's not really very useful. Nonetheless, it'll make two more copies of fork cheaper, and that's a good thing.

@AEgg: EDH ("Commander") decks love the Fork effects! Having multiples is very helpful, especially in Mono-Red. It gives the color stuff it normally doesn't get. "You see that there Time Stretch? Yeah, I get that too." "Oh, Demonic Tutor? Thanks for that!"

And it can also copy some of your own key spells. Have a Price of Progress? Yeah, that's gonna be dealing 4 damage for each nonbasic now. And that can be game-ending in EDH.

Great card - Fork was always fun, and this is even sillier in Commander.

A friend of mine spent a large amount of time figuring out a way to get this, Galvanoth, and Sorin's Vengeance all together. He has lost every single match but his first, when the combo actually worked. Getting 20 life loss on turn five for technically two mana was not fun.

Goblin RDW gets a -major- boost out of this one.
You can copy Goblin Grenade without sacrificing a second goblin or you can copy a Kuldotha Rebirth without sacrficing a second artifact!

With Goblin Chieftain and Adaptive Automatin, I am sure there is something solid to build with this.

Not to mention that you can use this to copy your opponent's counterspell, removal spells or even draw spells!

Can I use Reverberate to copy itself in the infinite thus making a highly explosive Shrine of Burning Rage?

Edit: Wait... Never mind. The copies wouldn't count as red spells cast, so it is not important.

As I've written in the MtG forum, I like to see "copy" in red... and then I've mentioned the short stories with Chandra... but this makes me feel bad now. The latter seems to have influenced the design of the new Chandra planeswalker... and a "cost-less" copy effect isn't what I wanted to see.

Reverberate is useful in so many ways and it fits prefectly into red, to give red much more control options. You could copy a Seething Song, Pyroclasm or Goblin Grenade, but it's best used against spells your opponent casted.

But I would also like to see a red spell that is also able to copy an ability on the stack. That would have give red endless ways to manipulate reactively... and would have been more a reason to not reprint Fork. Sadly, WotC hadn't asked me first.

Hey there, Fork. Why are you wearing someone else's skin?

If you look closely, you can see the same magical effects illustrated on Fork emanating out from the girl, jagged lightning, crumbly balls and all.

So, what happens if you Reverberate your own reverberate (or someone else's)? Could you keep copying the reverberates forever? Could you use this tactic to create an insanely powerful Kiln Fiend ?

Also, if you cast Reverberate to copy a Cancel, and choose your own reverberate as the target for the new cancel, does the reverberate get cancelled?

@Philip-BANG: Not to mention, YOU CAN'T HAVE A SPELL TARGET ITSELF. Before you cast it, you need all targets to already be in play/on the stack. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant idea, and if you bring in an Izzet Guildmage, with one activation of the blue ability, you'll have the infinite stack of copies, (because you can have the copy target the original, resolve, copy the original, target the original, so on, so forth) though considering copies don't count as spells cast, yeah, I don't know what you can do with it.

This is so fun in multiplayer, because you usually have so many more spells to choose from. Yes, thanks, I'll copy your tutor spells or your massive destruction spells.

Oh good, they got rid of the clunky "I'm not indecisive" flavor text but kept the radass jD art. Good call, M12 people.

I never owned Fork. That said, this is easily my favorite card. It's not very good in most red decks, but what's not to love about countering counterspells, using this card defensively, doubling a fat fireball or undoing something tremendous like Living Dead.

I'll still reverberate my reverberate and probably deal lethal damage every single time.

There's so much red in my meta, I hate when goblins or Dragonstorm decide to Reverberate my Genesis Wave's where X is some absurdly high number.
