Not really sold on the new art, Tibalt in the back looks quite good, but something about his victim just looks off to med.
However this is Blightning, so any rating below 4,5 just seems like blasphemy.

Tibalt in the back hiding in the shadows with his creepy face is awesome, but the blightning effect on the face, pouring out of his fingers, pales in comparison to the cynical touch of the original art. That bleak dark skull with smoke and lightning etching out of it epitomized the cruelty of hitting for a solid 3 for 3 CMC and then punishing them further with two discards. This art makes Blightning look like Mini-Blightning, as if it's doing only 2 damage and 1 discard.

Damnit. I dislike the art. But it is Blightning. But I dislike the art. But BLIGHTNING.
Damnit.
Maybe holding physical copies of them will change my mind.

I like the art for the sole fact that it shows the guy's skin boiling. It's pretty grisly.

(Art comparison rant)
While the old artwork seemed to be more focused on the black aspect with the "memory loss", this new artwork is more focused on the burn from the red aspect.
In my opinion, the old one was already somewhat iconic and is easily distinguishable from other cards, which is probably the reason why most people tend to prefer that one.
But the new one is just as great: It seems the memory loss is induced here by the severe pain from melting that poor guy's freaking face! And you still see that the burns aren't caused by flames but by lightning, so it's still true to the card's name. Also, we get to see Tibalt enjoying what he does best - which i think is forcefully sharing his madness with others.

Awesome reprint, meh art. The original art was better. Still love the card, though.

They better reprint this in Modern Masters and they better do it with better art.

It's great when they print commons this good - although maybe not for the Pauper players.

This new art is terrible. Just terrible. There was no reason to redo the art. It was iconic before, but it's a cluster now.

Why is Tibalt actively searching for Sorin? Is he trying to get his ass handed to him?
Also, this art is weak as ***. Yet another heavy-handed, amateurish piece of proficiently rendered, conceptually lazy fantasy art. Most of the new art is garbage. Magic art used to have more balls.

I got an Alara block structure deck that was all {R}{B} multicolored when I first started playing Magic. It was about $10-$15, and it had a copy of this and 3 copies of Terminate. It was a good day.

As his final torment, Tibalt forced the vampire to play Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded in his Magic: The Gathering -deck.

In my opinion this art is much, much worse than the original. This one is really bad and the original is really good.

MY MUTTON CHOPS ARE GONE!!!
This card is a great way to get card advantage and works well in most red-black decks.

Something I didn't notice until today is that this is supremely effective against Planeswalkers; allowing a potential 3-for-1; while being able to push someone's life-total in any situation.
Also, I want to point out the similar art (in terms of theme) between this and Cabal Therapy's original art.
