I'm glad I included him in my Magic 2012 Prerelease Deck, because everybody ended up using any Swiftfoot Boots that they could open to protect and haste their best monsters. Literally stealing the boots right off their feet and then doom blading their favorite creatures brought a smile to my face :)
I imagine with the artifact heavy Scars of Mirrodin Block behind us, this guy is going to be very useful to me. And he has amazing artwork! Definitely a four star card in my mind.
SO many targets in EDH, you dont even notice until you start playing with this guy sleeved up.

First thought was how much it reminded me of Higure, the Still Wind. Turns out it's the same artist. I'm hoping it's just an homage. Anyway, it's a perfectly excellent card.

In EDH you can grab someone's Lightning Greaves and throw them on him. XD
Yeah, even without Liquimetal Coating this can sucker punch someone who played their bomb nice and unprotected. But it works extra-well with Phyrexian Metamorph, you can either copy the thing you stole, OR copy Master Thief and steal something else!
Can i use liquimetal coating to give master thief a target and keep that permanent after end of turn even though it's no longer an artifact? Does he have to stay on the battlefield to maintain control of stolen permanent?
