Woo, I like it. Blue needed some more reasonable power and this suits the color nicely.

Its cards like these that make me happy. Cool, flavorful, and all-around just plain fun. Its also nice since it shows off a side of blue that people don't usually see, instead of the typical draw/counter cards.

Goes great with her boyfriend, Sphinx of Jwar Isle. Of course, it's not like you need much synergy when you have 9 power in the air...

In Limited, the best combination will be with Crystal Ball and Preordain. I'm looking forward to trying them out!

Without any support, it's a 4/4 flier for 4 that has a reasonable chance of thinning some land out of your deck, or possibly hail-mary'ing you into an answer. Pretty great.

With support? Jeesh.

I love, love, LOVE it when they make a card with a drawback that isn't really a drawback.

With the humongous amount of Scry effects available to blue right now, plus the allmighty Mind Sculptor, this will always be an incredibly one-sided effect.

Being attached to flying beef isn't to shabby either.

Good, a 4/4 flier for 4 was enough to win me a few games of sealed, but even with 3 Preordain and two Augry Owl, I didn't have enough support for it, and called for island every turn because that I was running mostly singletons

to the guy who said this card needs too much support, that could not be futher from the truth. this guy is super well rounded. a solid threat, even without the bonus ability.

Umm, U caster, you HAVE looked at the other blue stuff in standard, right? Pretty much EVERY SINGLE BLUE CARD is support. This is excellent. Supporting it should be NO PROBLEM at all.

I played a few games with this and Crystal Ball on the field. End of opponent's turn, Scry 2, line up the next draw and the next card to pick with the sphinx. Declare attackers, pull Mighty Leap with this ability, and cast it to fly over all the blockers. Fun combo.

The Conundrum regarding this Sphinx may just be what gender it is. Chest protecter suggests female, but lack of curves throughs doubt on that option.
Aside from the gender issue, doesn't the Sphinx look a little big to be a 4/4? Hell, it seems downright huge, 10/10 or thereabouts.
Anyway, the Androgenous Sphinx is great with the right support, and good without it.

At the release party he served me very well, plenty of augury owls and a crystal ball helped, and most of the time island is all i said and usually it was never at a disadvantage, although i did once put down an augury owl and then the sphinx and name island, good and well knowing i had my next creature on top.... rookie mistake. Definitely a bomb in draft might see constructed.

Everyone is talking about its 4 mana for 4/4.. but.. I played this at prerelease and it was meh. I was much more impressed with scry making a come back than the sphinx itself. Don't get me wrong it is still a good card, a 4/4 flying sphinx is good just for being a 4/4 flyer, but its draw affect doesn't come into play that often and it almost never stays alive. I was running a crystal ball, and foresee, and even though I played it twice it got doom bladed once and quag sickness on another time. It doesn't have the part black and artifact protection tower gargoyle had. So, its good if it sticks but when does it stick.. if you're coming across with a 4/4 per turn then you're going to win anyways.

On side note, love that it's a lower mana sphinx, and the art is great. Oh and umm.. for all the gender comments yes it is FEMALE, hence the ahem.. bra.

Did anyone notice that this card will be forcing your opponents to place valuable cards at the bottom of their libraries (unless they have scrying abilities, I mean).

It seems people have forgotten that...

You know you don't have to name a land every time. If you're worried about that bomb card being shifted to the bottom, just name it every time. A 5/5 card if there ever is one.

Seems fun for EDH. Everyone get your Sensei's Divining Tops ready! That and a 4/4 flyer in blue colors is pretty good.

Even though Serendib is not on the reserve list, this is probably the closest we will ever get to seeing serendib efreet reprinted.

This card is actually really good. For 1 more blue you get an additional power, you lose the upkeep ping, and you gain a good ability

I think with this, and cards like aether adept, we should be able to put together a viable mono-blue in standard.

Great card! For 4 mana you get a 4/4 flying, making this card, without any other abilities, a great blue beatstick. With all the scry cards in M11 you're almost guaranteed to make use of the Sphinx's ability, either to gain card advantage, or get rid of a card you don't want.
A sure 5/5

I have one Conundrum Sphinx in my mono-blue deck... just in the hope it drops when I have Crystal Ball out. Otherwise, I prefer Water Servant or Air Servant.

I'd consider using 4 Sphinx in a build that included Jace and Jace's Erasure.

Halimar Depths, Augury Owl, and Forsee all show me what is coming up. then attack with Conundrum Sphinx. You already know what cards are coming. Cha-ching!

Awesome! Crystal Ball, Halimar Depths, Explorer's scope in standard, Nulltread Gargantuan, Sage Owl, Sensei's Divining Top in Ext and the list goes on and on and on... Hard to believe you can get this card for 1$...

This card is insanely good, and I predict that if mono-blue is ever viable in standard again this sphinx will be a part of it.

The best thing about this card is that it's a blue 4/4 with flying for 4. Remember, a mono-blue deck can almost NEVER afford to tap out. For the price of it's big sister, sphinx of jwar island, you can play conundrum sphinx AND have the mana for a counterspell (deprive/ mana leak/ negate or whatever)

As a free added bonus, its ability is AMAZING. With Jace the mind sculptor, it lets you draw 3 cards a turn for FREE. That kind of card advantage is INSANE.

Meanwhile, your opponent is forced to either A. Guess a land, and maybe maybbbeeeeee draw a land but also potentially have to watch the card they REALLY wanted go to the bottom of their library. Or, B. guess the card they really want and just let you have some obscene card advantage while also potentially NEVER drawing that card they really want.

I just love this card. Its fun, and it's powerful without being at all broken.

Plus, because its in an intro pack, it is CHEAP.

4/4 flying for 4! A draw engine for you with Scry in the same set, or "Sphinx of Jwar Isle" matters?!

Sorry, but this one is a 5/5 stars.

One time I got attacked by this and had no idea what card I was going to topdeck, so I said "Ulamog's Crusher!"
It was totally Ulamog's Crusher.
I won that game.

Really a very good card, but overshadowed as a 4-drop by Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Cryptic Command. Still awesome in budget decks.

i really don't get why everyone is saying this guy is so awesome. It just goes into your hand. 4 mana for a 4/4 flyer is useful and drawing 2 cards a turn is useful. But if so much of your deck is just setting up draws than that extra card probably wont do anything any way...

This guy has turned into the champion of my "keep it simple" blue deck.

Augury Owl for Scry & a strictly worse storm crow. Aether Adept for awesome field control.

Other than that just a whole lot of control, bounce, & steal for later. This guy fits the curve so nicely. I can trade with Jace's -1 for a turn, Into the roil it the next turn, and then steal it with a Volition Reins since I'm always dropping a land. Love it all.

I never figured out why this isn't a sideboard against Caw-Blade. It eats Squadron Hawk and other birds, even when carrying Swords (except Sword of Body and Mind, which rarely sees play.) The effect is also surprisingly decent, and it has CMC=P/T, with Flying and a non-drawback ability, in BLUE.

@Darthricardo: Conundrum Santa?! 5-star comment - I laughed out loud. =D

Very efficient flier, CMC-wise, and of course as people have said already there are many ways to make his ability work for you. The only possible downside would be that if you ARE using him to draw bonus cards, you are losing the element of surprise; your opponents will always know what you're getting. Still, the card advantage might outweigh that, depending upon your playgroup!

with anything that lets you look at the top card of your library or plays with it revealed this is just "when you attack dray a card".
