Combine with Mephidross Vampire. If there are 6 other 2/2 creatures on the board, Thrashing Wumpus gets +14/+14 permanently for 2 black mana. Yes, please!

Fun fact: the original creature was the leeches covering the wumpus, but wotc felt like they were too subtle in the art so they changed it to the wumpus instead. Shame, cause leeches make much more sense and have much more flavor.

As mentioned on the other card, this is pretty funny with a Helm of the Ghastlord.

But I still wish the plural was "wumpi".

P.S. Why bother Mephidross Vampire rather than e.g. Sadistic Glee?

I like it, but I like it less than Crypt Rats, which has the support of Swarmyard. Though I suppose this can be used with Krosan Warchief of you're in BG...

My favorite combo for the wumpus is with Spirit Link or Soul Link to gain life equal to the number of players and creatures in play. With soul link, you even gain two life off of the wumpus! (one for dealing, one for receiving)
