Fylamarid + Ivory Gargoyle + something to draw...

scornful egotist! I'm sure in blue you can be creative with having a few creatures. Perhaps Shields of Velis Vel and peer pressure?

Gotta sac a blue critter to it. Great for those old blue monstrousities that required insane sacrifices/mana cost to untap.

It's not bad for a fallen empires card. Someone wants to kill one of your blue dudes? Sac him in response and get half a dozen tokens. Someone plays a pacifism on one of your guys? Sac him.

Camarid tokens on MTGO are so cuddly looking! And, perhaps, edible looking as well.

Ignoring colored mana requirements (since I'm not actually building this deck; assume some filter if you must) and using Homarid Spawning Bed, Scornful Egotist (as my general, assuming he was legendary) and Ashnod's Altar...with a face up Egotist on my turn...

Mana Floating (after actions taken): Actions Taken

-3 Mana Floating: Sac Egotist; get 8 Homarids.
13 Mana: Sacrifice your Homarids.
4 Mana: To get Egotist Again. Sac for 8 Homarids.
20 Mana: Via Sacrificing the Homarids
9 Mana: To replay egotist and sacrifice.
25 Mana: Via Sacrificing the Homarids.
12 Mana: To replay Egotist and sacrifice.
28 Mana: Via sacrificing the Homarids.
13 Mana: To replay Egotist and sacrifice.
29 Mana: Via sacrificing the Homarids.
12 Mana: To replay Egotist and sacirfice.
28 mana: Via Sacrificing the Homarids.
9 Mana: To replay Egotist and Sacrifice.
25 mana: Via sacrificing the Homarids
4 Mana: To get Egotist Again and sacrifice.
20 Mana: Via sacrificing the Homarids.
-3 Mana: To get Egotist again and sacirifice.
13 Mana: After sacrificing the Homarids.

That's pretty neat. See the pattern(s)?

Fylamarid + Empress Galina + this. I run this combo in a merfolk EDH deck. I basically just keep people's generals off the field permanently. Steal it, turn it blue, sac it, make tokens, and now their general costs 2 more to play. Toss in Pemmin's Aura and unless their general has shroud or hexproof, they don't stand a chance! Not bad for a 'worthless' Fallen Empires card!

Awesome card because it works at instant speed. Also, Artificial Evolution/Xenograft for tribal decks. You could have a Merfolk Spawning Bed, a Bird Spawning Bed, an Illusion Spawning Bed, or whatever other tribe exists in blue.

Don't want to be confined to blue? Shifting Sky, etc.

Or you could just use Coat of Arms or Beastmaster Ascension and beat your opponents down with Camarids. Alternately, Mana Echoes. Suspend (for example) Viscerid Deepwalker, play Homarid Spawning Bed and Mana Echoes, then sacrifice the creature when it comes into play to make five Camarids and 25.

Because it is totally worth the trouble just to be able to say you fueled a game-winning Fireball with Camarids.

P.S. Deep-Sea Kraken gets you 100.

Camarid spawning bed?

@anyone seeing kitsunewarlock's comment: The higher numbers are (x)(10-x)+4.

Probably the only good thing that ever came out of Homarids.

More color wheel silliness. Blue weenie rush? And it suffers from the fact that blue has no other cards to really back that strategy up with. Still, sacrificing creatures that are going to die anyway to get a bunch of 1/1s isn't a totally bad thing.

This is an amazing spell, especially with Scornful Egotist, as many have said, but........... why does it make "CAMarids"? Why doesn't it make HOMarids since it is a Homarid Spawning Bed?

For anyone wondering about the creatures being Camarids instead of Homarids, if you read up on the lore, Camarids are baby Homarids.
