They got eaten by all the tokens this thing spawns

I wish this card's activation cost was less :(. Figures they'd make a Fallen Empires homage unplayable...

Would have liked it more if the actiavtion cost was less. Then it would be mostly preferable to Nuisance Engine, although that one could still interact with artifact-related cards.
Also, what's up with the creature type Citizen? I know about Fallen Empires' Icatian Town, but "Citizen" is neither a race nor a profession. They should remove that creature type and reword those cards to "Human" instead...

I hope they come back and do another one of these or even a full cycle, spawing things like Orc,Dwarves, minion,Ogre, giant,Knight, warrior, soldier you name it. 5/5 for flavour alone!

You'd think something like this would be a Legendary permanent.

It's not so famous now but I bet it was a bestseller back in the days.

This is bad. Flexible, but bad. The benefit of making tokens in a color you're not playing is not great enough to make up for the fact that it costs 6 mana for a 1/1 creature and 3 mana for each one after that. Plus you can only make one a turn anyway.

fabulius trbiute to Fallen Empires. 5/5 only for the flavor

It is a bit expensive, but these little goblin tokens might come in handy.
i think this is just playable because you get to choose what it makes, then again i have a few descent thrull cards that makes this quite handy, and when you need that extra goblin.
the flavor of it is great, 4/5

"Why not merfolk or wizard for blue? Why not soldier or bird for white?"
There were no cards that produced merfolk, wizard, soldier, or bird tokens in Fallen Empires. That's why.

Long live the Camarids.
Now, if only I can find a place that sells the token card from Time Spiral...

Eh. The sequel was better, but the movie was terrible.
I think i truly enjoy this card. Being able to get around those pesky pro-s when needed is useful, but i don't think the creature types are of any use except for 's, 's i'm a little iffy on. Still, token generators are token generators.

Camarid is the name for adolescent Homarids
Why? I dunno, I guess because each of the tokens is like the baby of the color tribe.
Thrulls were created from the Order of the Ebon Hand. Saprolings are from Thallid Fungus. Camarids are baby Hormarids. Citizens are like 'worthless' people, they need to choose a profession to become a warrior (for example). I dunno why for Goblins.

I think what people underestimate here is this was a good workaround for the "protection from x color" problem with monocolored decks.

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
This card references an entire set: Fallen Empires. The set took place on Sarpadia, an island nation on Dominaria ruled by several empires spread across the five colors. While they warred with each other, each empire eventually collapsed from within; that is each color's empire was overwhelmed by an uprising in it's own color. The source of the overwhelming forces were represented by tokens of a particular race as Fallen Empires was one of the first 'tribal' sets:
The white-alligned human civilization of Icatia succumbed to religious zealotry among its citizens (see Icatian Town). The blue-alligned Vodalian merfolk fell prey to the homarids; their young are called camarids (see Homarid Spawning Bed.) The black-alligned Order of the Ebon Hand was massacred by swiftly breeding thrulls. (see Breeding Pit.) The red-alligned dwarf kingdom was consumed by goblins and orcs (see Goblin Warrens.) And the green-alligned elves were overrun by the thallids and their saprolings. (see also Thallid Devourer.)
The eight-volume Sarpadian Empires chronicled this and is quoted on numerous cards. (see http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?output=spoiler&method=visual&action=advanced&flavor=+%5bSarpadian%5d .)

I suppose you could have this in your deck with Executioner's Hood, and start creating tokens of whatever color your opponent is NOT using. Or perhaps Hideous Visage, if you are running black.

"Would be pretty amusing with Mind Extraction."
Again, because you have flexibility in color, you can abuse your opponent by choosing a color that works best against your opponent's deck.
Just hope they aren't running artifacts (if you are using the intimidate scheme), Painter's Servant, or artifact destroy.
