kind of ok. a 5/5 flying for seven is so so, repeatability makes it only slightly better than. Also mirrorsheen seems cool at first glance but less so as you consider the meta game implications. I love eventide but think that R/U got shafted except for the dominus of fealty.

This would have been so very playable at 5 - 6 mana.. at 7 its more like this better be ending the game for me, and it just doesn't do that. If it were 5 on the other hand (considering the token has no abilities except flying), and could be retraced it would be sorta of like a broodmate dragon with a land sac. involved, which would be far from over powered considering its on a turn by turn basis, has counters, and broodmate gives you two 4/4's for 6 mana. I have to agree with "davidhuman" here, r/u has very few good cards in this set, the only two worth noting being crackleburr and this one, and neither are particularly great.

Good card in draft. It's not efficient for the creature it gives you, but because it has retrace, it's an endgame breaker, because now each dead land you draw on your turn can generate another 5/5 flyer.

that's a funny-looking skarrgan skybreaker.

Red/blue's finisher in Eventide. Not in that it finishes for red/blue, but it finishes red/blue as an identity in that set.

I don't think that this needs to be abused... It's a 5/5 for 7CMC, that has a sort of built-in recursion. What makes it solid is that the creature doesn't have anything to do with the card that created it, so even if the opponent exiles the creature you still can retrace the spell. Of course it's a little overcosted, because you pay for the robustness!

I like it very much... I would like to own a couple of this card, because I wuold try to play it, even only one copy...

I just found this card sorting through my cards by color, rarity, and set. Before this, I saw Pyromancer's Ascension and Echo Mage. Not fast, but certainly fun to do.

Retrace was cool, I hope they bring it back someday.

Hmm, it's a sorcery, so I'm pretty sure there's got to be some way of copying this card that completely breaks it, somehow...

Hmm, I guess Cloven Casting could work, or maybe Hive Mind? Or one could just use the good ol' Mirari, I guess.

EDIT: Oh, and Pyromancer Ascension would work beautifully. But that card is nuts, in any case.

@kpwebb12 : Remember, we are talking about red and blue. The colors of Act of Aggression, Act of Treason, Blind with Anger, Commandeer, Cytoplast Manipulator, Dominus of Fealty (in set), Grab the Reins, Overtaker, Roil Elemental, Ray of Command, Skyfire Kirin, Thalakos Deceiver, Threaten...

However, the best option in this case seems definitely to be Dominate, perhaps with a little help from Djinn Illuminatus or Ink-Treader Nephilim in a multiplayer game.

Of course, most of these options would work ideally without Hive Mind still in play, but guess what? It is easy enough to bounce it, or sacrifice it, or whatever.

EDIT: Nevermind, Avacyn Restored is out, and with Arcane Melee, which works very well with this card. I was lucky enough to immediately draw one, and now, I can finally use the playset of this card I have in my binder. =D Dual Casting is also pretty sweet.
