A lot like lightning storm, but this one has the advantages of being an enchantment as well as not being redirect-able.

This + Life from the Loam + Fetch lands and cycling lands is a pretty nasty deck.

Drop this enchantment on turn three.
On turn four, Manamorphose for (g)(u) and cast Scouting Trek followed up by Treasure Hunt.
Drawing every basic land in your deck, you can now discard all of them for 2 damage apiece. Normally that's something like 32-44 damage.

This card literally just one a game for me against a pretty nasty deck. Nuff said.

Totally viable pre-Valakut. A red deck needs only 6 mana tops to run on, so why not take those topdecked lands and have a little fun? The only problem is if your opponent is running Megrim or Liliana's Caress.

Unfortunately red isn't really good at drawing cards or land search. It is better than any Retrace card you could make with this ability.

Never again will I complain about drawing too many lands.

With Groundskeeper, this essentially becomes "1G: Deal 2 damage to target creature or player." Pretty good, if you ask me.

Turn unneeded lands into Shocks? Sure.

I love this card. In red burn land draws can kill your momentum late game, but not any more! As others have said, crucible of worlds makes this barely a disadvantage.

@EveryPersonWhoMentionedCrucible of Worlds: Maybe I'm missing something here, but activating the ability requires you to discard a land, which of course requires the land to be coming from your hand. Crucible would only let you play the land once you've already discarded it, which is nice but red should be able to run fairly well with fewer lands anyway, so I don't see how being able to get the extra land-drops is that game-changing. In my opinion you'd be better off using effects like Wheel of Fortune with simple low cost burn spells like Lightning Bolt. Use your burn spells, discard any excess land to convert them to shocks, then refresh your hand and repeat. You should be able to burn through your hand faster than your opponent, so you'll be gaining card advantage by forcing them to discard, and you'll be forcing them to adapt on the fly since they won't be able to hold onto any of the cards for too long.

So, I heard you were playing a Zo-Zu the Punisher EDH deck, and you don't know what to do with those lands you don't want to play.

I think i have a solution...

This card is ripe with combos. On its own, it can turn bad top decks into shocks which is alright.

All I want to do with this card is maintain a steady stream of discarded lands with Life from the Loam.
