A classic that has aged well over time, the rats have always been a nice way for black to get a little card advantage. The awesome flavor text is a nice touch, although I think the older artwork is better.

Needs new art. Great card, though.

AAAAH, my ol' discard buddies! Now I can play a defensive body AND nibble a card in standard once again!

I looked closer and realized this is worse than Black Cat because it does not have random discard....

@ Steinberger1109: Not necessarily. Say you imprint Black Cat on the aforementioned Mimic Vat. That wouldn't be as close to as good as this on Mimic Vat. Their triggered abilities trigger at different times. If Black Cat got exiled or bounced, nothing would happen then either. But yes, random discard is generally better than plain discard.

This guy always gives my opponents card disadvantage. Being card disadvantaged against a pro like me is a nearly impossible uphill battle to win. So to sum it up, if I play this, I will almost always win.

Gotta love early game discard, and it comes with a little 1/1 chump as well. Pretty solid.

my scrub friend runs 4 of these in his Heavy discard pack rat deck. An annoyance at best in multiplayer and a real but not debilitating pain early on if you are playing one on one. I've learned it's sometimes best to accept an opening hand or first mulligan that is loaded with mana if you know you are going to eventually be forced to discard some stuff. just side board scavenge, flashback or loxodon smiter or any other graveyard tech
