the same "crown" on the old Fallen Angel, very cool... and very playable

There are cards in Magic that I will never find out about. I'm glad I found out about this one.

I could just imagine this on Ink-Eyes while Nighteyes is in play.

Gives you a Flyer, who can be pumped up, can return to you and then count as playing another {B} spell. First time I put it in my {(B/G)} deck I won =)

An aura that allows you to get 3-for-1'd (or more) with instant removal. Probably the wrong direction for auras to go in if they want to be playable. Still love the shout out to fallen angel.
I was thinking of putting this in a deck I was designing where everything automatically comes back from the graveyard (including spells) or at least lets me pay to bring it back, so as to save room in the deck that would otherwise be used for reanimation spells, but I don't know if this really matches the deck, even though it comes back to me on it's own... instead I'm thinking reoccuring nightmare, to help protect my demons from takklemaggot and necrotic plague.
Wonderful win-con in a thalid deck. I test the water with a Mycoloth, tossing a few saprolings in his mouth. If they don't kill him by my next turn, they don't have the kill spell. Mycoloth goes flying with +3/+2 for each counter on him, at minimum. Usually catches them off guard for a flying attacker. And if it does, my Mycoloth test next game is even more accurate, since it becomes a primal instinct to kill it on sight. ;-)
Sure, it a massive set up for card disadvantage. But I can't help it, my inner Timmy has an orgasm if it works.

Wow. A reoccurring black enchantment that gives flying. The ability is just a bonus, but this would be decent without.
Also, @Jinx585 you can link to a particular printing by using the autocard multiverseid="thenumberfromtheURLinquotes" tag.

Put this on a Grave Titan and watch your opponent weep, or cast a removal spell...still sick if it gets through.

@desolation_masticore: In order to get 3-for-1'd, you'd have to sacrifice two other creatures to this and then have your huge creature get destroyed. So yeah, that would be a 3-for-1, but you're basically saying "if you play this card poorly, it's bad." You could also enchant a creature with hexproof, only sacrifice guys that have decent abilities when they die, or, the easiest, only use the ability when the opponent is tapped out or has no cards in hand. It's a really good card if you play it right. And with the Rancor effect, not terrible card advantage as far as auras go.

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
This card is referencing Fallen Angel and is part of a cycle referencing the Rancor cycle of auras from Urza's Legacy.

Auras are usually card disadvantage: you enchant your creature, said creature dies to removal, both your permanents go to the graveyard, meaning you got 2-for-1'd.
There are only 3 auras I would ever run: Rancor, Angelic Destiny, and this. By providing permanent recursion, they've made these 3 auras not only playable, but downright fantastic card advantage.
Most auras are garbage but these 3 excel in any format they're legal in.
When I first saw this card I thought "Yay! Fallen Angel reference, nerdgasm" :P 3.5/5

In some decks, this is a huge win-condition, especially with cards like Phyrexian Crusader and other infect baddies.
When you have enough creatures and you're certain your opponent cannot react (tapped out, no fliers, protection works, etc.) drop this down pre-combat and sac 3-4 creatures to make that Crusader drop 10+ counters in one hit.
Even without the nastiness of a crusader, this will really be a stab your opponent won't forget. Passive evasion + active sac + heft power boosting, this lands on the curve just in such a way that it will usually be that edge you need to win.
It's beautifully flavored, and it reacts to everything short of countering and exiling. You can even sac its user and replay it as soon as it hits your hand.
Sure it's a bit pricey for passive flying (since splashing blue gives you 1-drops that hit that criteria), but dark ritual also exists. The extra 2 mana really justify its replayability and its flexibility.
You could probably build a powerful modern deck around this and the crusader with some zombie tribal...

Note: They got Anson Maddocks to do this card, just like he drew Angel!

Good with Sengir Autocrat on any other creature. Eat his tokens then him and reanimate, or simply flicker him after eating the tokens. T2 some creature. T3 this. T4 autocrat and swing for ~10 in the air. If he's alone, reenchant him and have him eat his followers. Then himself and reanimate again! Fun stuff.
