Would have been playable if it costed 1R or if it was 2/1

This is a card you don't even mind for being legendary since it will enter the battlefield not that often anyways. It's rather supposed as utility card for discarding effects.
It could have been slightly cheaper or stronger of course, but is actually not meant to be a recurring attacker.

Considering the all the crazy stuff you can do with goblin tribal, it is very, very playable.

I guess if you had 4 mad aunties and 2 chieftains, he could be useful....

Look at him. Just look at him. He looks so happy. What a great fella. (That's Squee's Toy he's holding, by the way)

So many combos with this guy. And excellent flavor text.

Squee's my favorite card because he's totally expendable. He gets killed and keeps coming back for more. Very combo-friendly, and he's got more cards to go with him than any other critter I've seen (Squee's Toy, Squee's Revenge, Squee's Embrace, General's Regalia, Firestorm, Legerdemain, Phantom Wings etc.) If you use Squee in a goblin deck you can't go wrong with Goblin Chirurgeon, which lets you sacrifice a goblin to regenerate a creature.

Squee is one of my favorite characters mainly because of his card. Him in combination with the first effect of Chandra Ablaze is great... he deals four damage each turn and comes back the next turn and soon enough, if you've used enough instants and sorceries then you basically win the game. i have him in a goblin burn deck so he serves a great purpose.

... Nice to read all the comments about how he can be useful cause I gave him 1/2 star cause he seems/seemed over priced and utterly useless but I've never done a goblin deck or touched goblins for that matter for the most part.

Ive always wanted this card. But people refuse to give up their hold on him. Makes me mad...Always wanted him for my combo with him and Solitary confinement

Great in a combo with any spellshaper, altough Jaya Ballard, Task Mage is the obvious choice. Could get along with devourers, too. Aand some sacrifice effects.
Hell, he's great in combo with so many cards I almost can't think of a deck he would'n fit in.

Why no class type? Squee should be a Goblin Scout.

ah squee is the best goblin ever I always loved his comments in the flavor texts of other cards I just looked him up here cause I was curious if he was a card. this immortality thing explains why he's all over the place though. I love goblins, now I want this card more than any other I've ever seen.

Even if this card were not epic-ness incarnate, I would still love this card purely for the amazing artwork of the tenth edition card.

I have uses Squee in a context I have never seen before. I use 2 of him with a confusion in the ranks. I play one opponent gives me a creature i give him squee. I play another one he gives me another creature he gets squee and they both die. Return to hand next turn to start again. Works so well, that other players don,t wanna play creatures. Other cards that work well with that combo are, glitterfang hellspark elemental and otherworldy journey.

Have fun with the deck. It gets so funny.

This guy makes a decent EDH general for mono-red. Unlike other generals, he never gets any costlier.

i think some people don't get how insane this card can be you could put 4 of him in a spellshaper/knowledge deck, it doesnt even matter about what color, you could also defend you from discard (however not megrim, although you can choose not to return him)

Squee loves to hold Squee's Toy while playing by the light of the Blood Moon. Squee and madness are peas and carrots in a good spellshaper deck.

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch: "I got to ask this - is there a reason you always use Squee?"
The Monarch: "I know it sounds crazy, but he has that rare blend of expendable and invulnerable that makes for a perfect chump blocker."

I find it funny that most decks i've seen him in dont even run red. They have no intention of casting him.

He's the Magic equivalent of henchmen 21 and 24 from The Venture Bros.

"They've got that ideal combination of expendable and invulnerable that makes for the perfect henchman."

@magicrocks, I don't think it would quite work with Confusion in the Ranks the way you're describing. The first Squee would go off as you say and give you a creature, but the second Squee would die before the exchange could take place, and exchanges need both targets to be valid or they don't take effect. So you'd only steal one creature per two castings of Squee, not two.

For the record, he makes the most hilarious EDH general. I just won a game by repeatedly Skull Catapulting THE LEADER OF MY ARMY at my opponent's face.

Lightning Coils didn't hurt either. Well, didn't hurt me anyway.

Squee, the annoying Planeswalker 2Red

Planeswalker - Squee

+1 until the begining of your next upkeep Squee becomes a 1/1 goblin creature. if it would die, return it to the battlefield with loyalty counters on it equal to the amount on it when it died

-1 exile the top 3 cards of your library, if you would discard a card, you may put one of the exiled cards into your grave yard instead

-4 put a 1/1 goblin creature token on to the battlefield with "when this creature dies, put a token that is a copy of this creature on to the batlefeild ant the begining of the next end step"

loyalty = 1

(sry for some bad wordings (especialy the +1))

I'd use him with Chandra Ablaze not only for the synergy but also just for the mental picture of Chandra throwing a flaming Squee at my opponent's face every turn.

I made a deck that ran four Linessa, Zephyr Mage, four Tortured Existence and four Squee, Goblin Nabob. Used the grandeur ability to pitch Linessa to the grave and bounce up to 4 permanents to their hand...then for {B} I could discard a Squee and do it again, at instant speed. That deck certainly was annoying.

Makes you cast Patron of the Akki by turn 4 (since you'd need to cast Squee on turn three). Sweet. Not the best combo but very hilarious.

Squee+Ertai, the corrupted or Crovax, the cursed = Hillarity ensues. Especially if you think about what is happening Lorewise XD

Squee's ability is pretty nasty, and is flavorful to the character. However, isn't Reassembling Skeleton just as good, if not better?

Such a good card... so good that it can easily be run in decks that don't have the slightest intention of running any red mana sources. I've been running at least one copy in virtually all my decks with Fauna Shaman, and for good reason - her ability effectively becomes G, T: tutor a creature every turn. You can keep playing out the creatures you find and keep on digging with her, seeing as Squee keeps coming back to your hand.

@Mattscz - the issue with the skeleton is twofold. Firstly, it requires 2 mana to bring it back. Secondly, it goes to the battlefield, when Squee is used for a lot of "discard a card" hijinx, like Fauna Shaman, Chandra Ablaze, Mind Over Matter, etc. Reassembling Skeleton is better if you want multiple sacrifices, but then, Gravecrawler is even better than that.

The word nabob, which has its origins in the Hindi word, nawab, refers to a rich or influential person. It was originally used to describe a European who had made a lot of money in an eastern country, especially India.

Could I pitch this to Solitary Confinement and then pull him back in my hand during the same upkeep? Or do I have to let him sit in my yard and hope my opponent does not have graveyard exile?
