This artwork is just another example of the type of cutting edge humor the artist used when writing for Roseanne.

MAЯO's art was done with a passion for detail. I wonder if we're going to see more of this talented artist in the future.

Holy cow! It's like a Cranial Extraction that works for the whole match!

Efective in multi-game matches, at 7 CMC is almost unplayable in a single game. Thematicly not a white card, fits into blue a whole lot better, but white is the color best at stalling long enough to play this card, so it still works.

I think white is the perfect card for banning things, it being all about law and all. Red should get the ban-hammer though.

My favorite part of this is that the artist is Mark Rosewater. I really hope it actually was him and not just some guy from the art department who drew a stick figure. I can just imagine it. "Hey Mark, I need you to illustrate a card." "You need me to what?!"

So can you use this, name a card your opponent has and you don't, and then call a judge because your opponent now has less than 60 cards in his or her deck?

I think you could do this. But good luck finding a sanctioned UN-game. :P
And I wouldn't recommend using this card with the same argument in friendly games or you would run out of friends to play friendly games. :P

One time I cast this card naming Jace, the Mind Sculptor. This caused the last 4 cards of their deck to be exiled. The multilayerd irony was not lost on them. xD (Jace being banned, Jace getting milled by exile)

Ok, so I had to play against myself, and both this and Jace were proxies, and the whole thing was massively rigged....BUT STILL- epic. :)

Mmm... I don't think this plus Leyline of Anticipation would screw up whatever your opponent casts. Spells being cast are placed on the stack, and the stack isn't mentioned anywhere in this card. So the spell would resolve normally.
By the way, has any of you guys heard of Nevermore?

Pair with Panoptic Mirror and ban your opponent's entire deck for the rest of the match!

BAN-optic Mirror!

Has anyone noticed that the card's artist is Mark Rosewater?

Mark Rosewater was paid $1 for the art on this card. He keeps the check he got for it framed on his wall.

Strictly worse than nevermore

Not strictly worse than Nevermore. Nevermore does not affect lands, it doesn't stop the card from being cheated onto the battlefield, and its effect ends as soon as it is removed or when the game is over. This effect is more like Cranial Extraction that lasts the entire match (and hits all players, which is relevant in multiplayer).

I could easily see a black bordered variant of this, maybe in Orzhov colors or mono-black, at 5 or 6 CMC. Obviously it wouldn't last for the remainder of the match.

Ban Hammer 2RW
Sorcery
Ban Hammer deals 4 damage to target creature. If that creature dies this turn, exile it, then search target player's graveyard, hand and library for all other copies of that card and exile them. Those cards are not shuffled into the opponent's deck for the remainder of this match. (your opponent does not lose as a result of having less than 60 cards in his deck for subsequent games)
