In extended it can be quite expensive to play without mana acceleration. My suggestion for playing this card in extended would be to play it with mana ramp cards and Privileged Position, that way it can be played early in the game and the opponent won't be able to target it with any removal spells. In EDH however this card truely dominates.

SUPER-DUPER GOOD!!

But expensive. It's like Platinum Angel.

this card is so good because it is a 56 flying

Privileged Position for shroud, Ghostly Prison for Defense, a Couple of Ghostways for those pesky "Wrath of God" spells, and mana acceleration for her. Hmm...effective, perhaps?

Nice effect but high price

Well it's kinda good if you have a deck with some cards to search your library for lands (i.e. Khalni Heart Expedition or Harrow). It's only weakness is its high mana cost.

Good like Platinum Angel but significantly harder to cast.

More like Blinding angel

Good but too high. It'll take a long time to get that out. Lots of small spells to destroy it. Wont' feel too good after waiting all that time to get it out.

Pretty expensive, but I've had a lot of fun with it in casual games.

The flavor text is epic.

No reason to wait to hardcast it when you have Vigor Mortis in the same set. All you need is a way to get it into your graveyard. A Necra deck (green, white, black) should do the trick nicely with dredge. Though you don't even need white mana.
And yea, this is one of my favorite flavor texts in the game.

Wow, that flavour text starts so well and ends so horribly, just like the movies Revealation and Butterfly Effect, Golden glory, but ends with someone weeping. Just horrible. The card is even worse imo, such a lame, effective but lame, effect. Don't like this card.

the first archon I no it is not that good but I am vary fond of it because I really like the other archons.

I just run it in a deck with Endless Horizons. My land drops are assured for the rest of the game as long as my opponent doesn't have any enchantment removal, and he comes out on turn nine guaranteed. I only run a singleton of it, but it basically wins you the game once it's out, barring Banefire or some such nonsense.

Still one of my favorite card arts of all time.

Girls, girls, girls, it's called Reanimate ;)

...That's a *lot* of mana. I think nowadays, Iona, Shield of Emeria is preferable, if you happen to have nine white mana kicking around. And if you're playing black reanimator, Empyrial Archangel is better for the shroud, and has basically the same effect.

the problem with the flavortext is that you can still attack. i am guessing this guy is boros, and boros is all about war.
he could also be azorius, in that case it'd be more flavourful.

Try some Thran Weaponry with this one.

@Tezz
This guy is not of the Ravnica guilds at all. He's in the same boat as Sanguine Praetor- a primeval being from a time before the guildpact, sporting a high mana cost and awesome flavor text.

This is pretty damn awesome in Multiplayer.

I run a singleton of this guy with Empyrial Archangel, grabbing whichever one is more advantageous at the moment. I find that Lightning Greaves is an awesome way to protect him, as well as swing for 5 in the air immediately, if the skies are clear.

If this card ever gets reprinted, and I hope it does, it better be mythic. This card is everything that a mythic should be: Big, expensive, powerful and splashy with outstanding art and flavor text to boot. Although part of me thinks that it won't get reprinted, because the ability doesn't prevent planeswalkers you control from being attacked.

Still, fantastic card.

I think I'm the only one who noticed that Krond the Dawn-Clad and this guy are basically the same dude?

That's awfully eloquent for a (former) member of the Gruul Clans.

This card, along with my Phytohydra's, and Privileged Position's, my friends wouldn't play my w/g deck anymore. There were other nasty cards in there. Ravnica really boosted it though.

Evil in a ressurrection deck, especially considering if you're running white you can actually run the Modern-legal Resurrection.

This feels very red-white. Anyway, awesome artwork and flavortext.
