Whispersilk Cloak + this = pretty much a guaranteed win unless they're playing red or black and can deal damage without a combat phase

I just started playing modern so I'm backtracking through all the older cards and have to say that Blinding Angel seems pretty awesome. I'm really glad to be getting into this format.

Question: Let's say I get double strike with this and the next two combat phases are skipped, Does my opponent blocking on my turn count as a combat phase or does this only apply for their turn?

@MagicalMacabre: It only applies to their turn. They'll still be able to block during Your combat phase.
