Sacrificing an Ornithopter would destroy all token creatures, right?

Damn... Does anyone else find this thing... scary?

It's really quite easy to align mana costs in most decks. I think that you can use this and Living Plane to get an Armageddon effect for one mana, right? Or, possibly better, Jolrael, Empress of Beasts and anything that animates one of your lands becomes an Ajani Vengeant ultimate.

I love flavortext like this.

I like the ability, and that it requires only one black mana to activate it. But beeing a 7/5 with no other keyword abilities, for 8! mana? No fear? First trample? Anything? His power and toughness are just too low for that manacost.

Pretty neat gut, wish they'd deemed him worthy of higher stats since I think he's interesting enough to be the primo big black beater of a set. Pretty sweet that you can use his ability the turn he comes into play.

Demonic_Math_Tutor...

Your Vorinclex is horribly, horribly broken.

I'm actually really surprised they changed the creature type on this guy. Well, i guess we know where phyrexia is going next...

Looks like there are Praetors on Ravinica too...
This is slightly random but here are some Praetor sized predictions...

Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger 5GGG M
Legendary Creature - Praetor
Infect
Trample
Whenever CARDNAME attacks, all other attacking creatures gain +3/+3, Infect and Trample until the end of the turn.

This card exists to start fistfights between reading geeks.

"The name makes no sense!!! The adjective 'sanguine' means peaceful and well-tempered!!!"

"WHAT?!?! Are you really not aware that 'sangre' means blood?!?!"

"OF COURSE I KNOW THAT! But someone who is sanguine, is specifically cheerful and optimistic! Isn't that what the word MEANS?!?! DO YOU NEED ME TO GO GET WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY?!?!"

"That's a fluke! Think about words like sanguinary and exsanguination! Don't those indicate it's entirely proper to associate sanguine with blood?!?!"

(...Reading geeks who are reading this comment have probably observed by now that these two characters are interrobanging each other.)

So, now that we are Return(ing) to Ravnica this fall, anyone else wonder if this dude (and the associated flavor text) are a hint of what is to come??

I'm not talking about Phyrexia per se (I think we've had enough Phyrexia for a bit) but a "return of the Old Gods" and pre-Guildpact forces.

If I'm not mistaken, the old gods were the nephilim, so they've already returned.

"Avatar Praetor" is about as intimidating as creature types get.

The original Praetor?

Why is this guy so much physically stronger than the nephilim he's implied to be a servant of?

There was a story by Cavotta from Bougrat's perspective, where he distinguished between the old gods (whom Ravnica really was better off without) and the Nephilim (whom he thought were necessary to once again get everything properly churning wildly). So the Nephilim AREN'T the old gods. Two suspects in my mind for the identity of the old gods: Grigori (renegade angels who created the Nephilim in 1 Enoch), and Leviathans. For the latter, think in terms of Apsu, Tiamat, and Qingu.

Same mana cost, cmc of this card plus the extra mana to activate the ability, is Plague Wind. I'm sure this card was OK in block but not playable now.
