Works well in decks that play green and creatures.

but honestly the best use is this + glimpse of nature

question about ruling: if i were to pipe this out using elvish piper, would it, or any other myojin, get the divinity counter?
Likewise, if i were to summon another myojin using its 'remove divinity counter' effect, would the other myojins get their divinity counter?

Glimpse of Nature wouldn't allow you to draw extra cards (by removing the Divinity Counter and putting creatures from your hand into play) because you're not "playing" those creatures, you're "putting them into play."

Elvish piper does not "play" this card from your hand, it "puts it into play" from your hand, so you would not get the Divinity Counter.

The myojin of life's web is really meant as a game ending card, it takes forever to play it, but once its on the field you have all the advantage. You can choose not to use up the divinity counter until its beneficial to you, and you still have an 8/8 creature on the field that can't be sent to the graveyard by a spell due to its indestructibility. If you really want to make use of their divinity counter, theres actually two ways, but your rarely going to need it twice (since if you just played all the creatures from your hand, how many can you draw in a turn? and etc). Heres how it works, if you use Ninjutsu on any ninja, or boomerang, or any spell that enables you to return the card to your hand, you can simply replay it from your hand for the mana cost again next turn as if it were just played even if you've already used the divinity counter. You can also have That which was taken which doesn't need explaination. Lastly, you can use false demise, except that your creature has to be killed for you to regain the counter, but you get it back plus counter for the enchantment.

ok, you take this card, play it on turn 4 cause you set your deck up to mana accele out the wazo, pop the counter, and summon the other 4, then remove this guy for a moment, or if it is later game, that which was taken and put the counter back on him

pop the white, board wipe, and smash with a swing one shot kill, if your attack failed, fogged, pop some more counters, good bye lands, and opponents hand, and for s*** and giggles, draw 9 cards (3 lands, 1 enchantment and 5 creatures)

Back in my 'dinosaur days' of playing magic, I used to bring this out with Summoner's Egg, then just use That Which Was Taken to give it the counter. It's a little excessive, but it worked well because I could have this out by fourth turn if I played it correctly. Play a Predator Strike on it next turn and really cause some premature destruction!

Myojin of Life's Web is one of the (if not the) best cards I have. I have even made a deck based upon Spirits and Arcane spells, Green and Black. By using Lifespinner, I can bring any legendary spirit to the field, and I choose Iname, Death Aspect. It puts any number of spirits in my deck into my grave, and I put them all there. My opponents always give me weird looks, but that's because they don't know the rest of what I'm doing. I then use a card like Death Denied to bring Myojin of Life's Web and Iname, Life Aspect to my hand, as well as whatever else I can. I play until I have nine mana. Then I'll play Iname Life Aspect. He allows me to bring any number of Spirits to my hand from my grave IF he's killed. I will attack every turn, hoping he gets killed, so if he does, I can bring every creature in my deck to my hand and use Myojin to basically end the game. And if they don't kill it, well that's their problem, four damage a turn unless they find a creature strong enough block and not kill either creature. Even then I have creatures that make me sacrifice. This card is good in just about any deck nonetheless, plus it's a very strong card to being with.

Hmm... Maybe this would be nice with Weird Harvest. When you play the Myojin from your hand you at least have nine mana to put seven creatures from your library into play. Just think about Bogardan Hellkite or Angel of Despair. :-)

8 indestructable power with a built-in game winner? 9 mana is probably too cheap. Don't forget that you can use the ability at your opponent's end of turn so everything you drop gets haste.

How does this card work with spirit effects that are "When you play a spirit or arcane"? I really hope that it still counts as playing when you empty your hand into play but I feel like that's not the case because it says the you "put" any number of spirits into play. Anyone know which one it is?

Imagine if you took a Myojin and proliferated the divinity counters...

this card is absolute insanity in my animar, soul of elements edh deck. when you cast him he usually only costs the 3 green, and with primordial sage under your control you can tear through your library FAST. phyrexian metamorphing a dream stalker or palinchron/cloud of faeries allows you to go infinite on mana and, with the primordial sage out, infinite draw as well. thus loading your hand to drop this big boy followed by an entire library worth of creatures given haste by an urabrask the hidden :)

This makes really nice combo with Creeping Renaissance and all sort of mass destruction. It may be hell slow in regular games, but I bet it's gonna be great fun in EDH.

Also, indestructible 8/8 lady for 9 mana is quite nice, and with all the mana ramp in green it's not so painful to get into play.

Actually my least favorite of the Myojin. It only gives you creatures from your hand, so you need to have the advantage anyway for it to be effective. All the other ones can stand pretty much on their own in terms of giving you card advantage, but this one need you to already have at least a few cards in hand. And if you have 9 mana, you could just start casting those cards instead. It's the most "win-more" of the Myojin, as opposed to the massive amount of comebacks the others can make.

It's really pretty scary: I THINK this might actually be the worst Myojin. That blows my mind. I could be wrong as well, but if you imagine your board state to consist entirely of

1x Myojin X (whichever one you want to test with this theory)
1x Contagion Clasp
1x That Which Was Taken
Some Lands

Then you have:

Myojin of Wrath Spamming
Myojin of Drawing Your Library
Myojin of Mind Raping
Myojin of Destroying the World
and this-
Myojin of Making an Army

Most armies will be beatable by some pretty easy to acquire board-wipe effects. Each of the Myojin you can technically play around, but it is easiest to do so against Life's Web. Red and Black are probably the hardest to 'bounce back' from. Not that I would ever want to meet ANY of the five of them on the wrong side of the table. They are monsters, each and every one.

You want to cheat it out with a piper? Just use That Which Was Taken.

You know how my mono green deck wins? I -3 Garruk, Primal Hunter to draw at the very least 8 cards. Then remove the divinity counter to play them all. GG.

Probably the worst designed of the Myojin, as by the time you have the nine mana to cast her, you don't really need to use her ability anymore. That said, an 8/8 indestructible creature isn't terrible.

She tends to get out quite fast in my EDH deck based on her with Vernal Bloom or Gyre Sage followed by a few big boys.

Drop this and then on the following turn Myojin of Seeing Winds and use its ability. Will supply plenty of game ending fodder if your opponent does Wrath.
