Amazing card that still causes people to shiver in fear. The secret of this card is the fact blockers, even with first stirke, do nothing to this card. They just get sent to the top of the deck. Most players will gladly take the two damage before basically losing a turn. This card is amazing with effects like Lure.

Gravy on Cereal? that sounds nasty.

I've always been a fan of the Hounds though.

I think Izzet_guild_mage should be put in charge of writing magic rules text... perhaps not just magic rules but all rules.

Note: no damge is dealt. Immediately the creature is put on top.

Oh my...that's...fantastic! It may as well read "Elven Warhounds is Unblockable unless the defending player is at less life than Elven Warhound's power...or you abuse it with Lure."
And thank you, Available, I'm flattered :P

Was it made for Lure-effects? As green evasion? I'm not sure but it sure works well with anything that can give it trample, which is the green thing to do.

Hilarious combo potential in multiplayer I guess. Make all lands into creatures (Nature's Revolt), cancel their tap abilities (Linvala, Keeper of Silence), cast Lure on the Hounds, attack.

This card is a hidden horror. Seriously, this is possibly the most underrated green card I've ever stumbled upon. Only a few people know about it, yet it almost instantly wins you the game when you apply Lure or Nemesis Mask and swing.

Also a nice Rancor target - kills your opponent in five turns or possibly less, taking into consideration the amount of buff spells green can throw at it.

Built a G/W deck around this guy and Tempting Licid. Falls to removal, but if it works once, smart players scoop.

MOE is officially a crack baby after that statement.

it would be even better if it was Eleven Hounds, though ;)

random thought born of misreading its name....XD

Unblockable+ if you give it trample. It's basically the earliest version (and actually better) than Engulfing Slagwurm. Armadillo Cloak is beautiful here. You get life, blocking doesn't prevent any damage, and he gets big enough to resist burn.

Seems like a very fun equip/enchant creature.

Smart players get suspicious when you summon this. Then they either kill it, or lose the game. (Or you don't have Lure and are a clueless half-wit.) 5/5

With cards like this you have to remember that without Lure effects, they are worse than unblockables. Is a 2/2 unblockable for 4 worth it? Probably not.

That said, if you do have Lure, nemesis mask, etc, this can go really well in a deck with things like Tolarian Entrancer and other "you really, really don't want to block this" cards.
