Your Prodigal Sorcerer plan won't work out littleupsman, because unlike Curiosity, this enchantment reads "combat damage", ergo damage that is caused during combat from attacking or blocking creatures...

Nontheless this is a nice enchantment i'd also like to see as a timeshifted green version in a future set...or as blue/green hybrid enchantment.

When used along with creatures who have evasive abilities like flying, or which are ideally unblockable by default, this can provide some joyful card advantage. trample and double strike also work great with this.

Although i wish it was one mana cheaper.

I imagine that this card was *** unfair in limited. Especially as an uncommon.

Built this BlueBlack (mostly blue) artifact deck with some Myrs and other goodies (such as Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and Etched Champion, perhaps duplicated by Mirrorworks or Semblance Anvil. Basically the idea is to spam the board with a bunch of cheap artifacts and creatures. I found that I was quickly going through my hand and then spending the rest of the game in topdeck mode. Well, turns out it's pretty good at getting creatures through, if not for massive damage, so in goes Coastal Piracy and it does what it needs to do. Now it's winning games.
You probably need a swarm-type deck like this to make this worth having.

For four mana all your creatures get the Curiosity effect. Makes blue aggro pretty viable.
