This is going to be a powerhouse in limited with bloodrush.

I like this flavor text better.

Also, yeah. This is a much better environment for this guy than original Ravnica.

Just think about it: Bloodrush, well, anything that's cheap (Slaughterhorn?), then pay three more for his ability and you have a 10/1. Give it first/double strike or just bloodrush when it's unblocked and this guy is dangerous.

That is some impressive art, I gotta say, it looks like a promotional screenshot out of a video game in action.

Guess I get to be the first person to make the obligatory Training Grounds post. The colour requirements are a bit nasty, but the ability to swing in fourth turn for 32 with just those two cards is, well, pretty impressive.

You need to stop making Obligatory Training grounds posts because training posts is not obligatory. If this card was blue, maybe. Just Maybe, it would be. But being red green, it's completely outright not. If you absolutely have to autocard a brainless card, use heartstone. everytime you autocard training Grounds, you make the price jump 5 cents because another new player has to own a playset for his whatever deck, even if there's no other blue card in it. That's bad.

I prefer the original art over the new art, but this guy is even better now than he was back in Guildpact thanks to the crazy synergies with Bloodrush. Turn 5: Bloodrush Ghor-Clan Rampager onto him, then activate his pump ability. You have a 12/5 trampling beatstick that stands a fair chance of winning you the match right then and there.

You've gotta love exponential growth. OK, so you're not likely to use the ability more than twice in a turn, but still, it's the principle of the thing.

This guy doesn't take mucj to become absolutely terrifying. Rancor and Madcap Skills bring prime examples of what I mean in color. Off color, we can use Unflinching Courage, Spectral Flight, and Tricks of the Trade. These aren't even considering the dozens of combat tricks, one turn buffs, and bloodrushes you could do as well, or even using his ability more than once.

God help the opponent who looks down this guy and Zhur-Taa Ancient.

Oh dear, he's back, and the arsenal of spells that make him nasty are perhaps even scarier than last time now that Rancor's back, bloodrush is a thing, Madcap Skills and Alpha Authority exist, I can't imagine it being hard to have this guy swinging for 10 unblockable on T-4, if you drop a slaughterhorn on him too, that makes him a 16 power unblockable hexproof.
Perhaps this fellow is the speed-boost Gruul needed...

I think this would go great in a standard equipment deck along side illusionist's bracers. It could get pretty big with much less effort!

EDIT: Just realized how nasty this can get with just a simple trepanation blade and some double strike! If only trample went through players as well.

Woah man, it's like he's bloodrushing himself!

I like how his potential doesn't limit to being huge. You don't need to shell out all the bloodrushes at once, letting me keep more cards in hand. This means you are not immediately fucked up if things go wrong earlier in the game.

The 3 mana is relatively cheap and allows you to spare some mana to Fling him after bloodrush & damage.

I like that it's essentially a colorless Firebreathing.

Wouldn't you rather a Chameleon Colossus?

Equip this fellow with some Illusionist's Bracers, pay 3 to activate his ability, and watch him shoot instantly up to 8 power.
