Or prevent your opponent from countering spells or playing any combat tricks. Great multiplayer card.

double-green is quite impractical for an effect like that since you can't effectively use it as color fixer unless you rely on green spells for that...it's useful if you want to prevent players from playing non-hybrid multicolored spells, though.

In a green deck it s a perfect defence to multicolored cards .

In edh, if it comes out 2nd turn, the usual response is for people using multicolor decks is to sweep.

Green, the color with highest # of non-land mana makers, can shut down other players while play their own multi-color scheme much easier.

Every mono-green EDH deck needs to run this.

Here is a card that any green mage should definately take note of. Factoring the card is from the Mirage set, a lot of newer players will easily miss it, shame... That aside, this card is equally as good, if not better then a blood moon in legacy formats. As other players have already mentioned, it completely hoses multi color (gold) spells, drastically slows any non-mono deck, and not to mention prevents most counter magic unlike blood moon. Clearly it will not stop Force of Will or Daze, but any blue counter spell that needs mana tapped becomes obsolete during your turn. Even if you choose to run a few multi color spells, green can easily go around the effect with Birds of Paradise, or a Noble Hierarch. The downside of not being your turn and rendering your lands useless may have a moderate impact depending on how many instants your deck may be running, but chances are you have efficiently built the deck so it should not bother you. Overall, this card will definately have impact on a lot of legacy format decks. Shutting down cards like; Pernicious Deed, Qasali Pridemage, Gaddock Teeg, Rhox War Monk, Woolly Thoctar, Glissa, the Traitor, and the list goes on... A card like this, especially if played turn 2 via Llanowar Elf (or birds if you want to try and cast some gold spells later on) will more then likely cause problems for most decks in that format, especially anyone trying to run some kind of control deck.

On the surface, great against multicolored decks. However, remember that it also affects your lands too. So make sure you have plenty of elves when you need to cast that Giant Growth during their turn and they've selected black...

Great {G} card in EDH. It's even better when you have opponents that are top-decking, since they choose the colour at the beginning of their upkeep, then draw their card...meaning they can make the wrong choice then be unable to cast the card they just drew.

Hoses multicolored cards, most counterspells, and most multicolored decks in general, all for . How does this not see more play?

This card is much worse than Blood Moon in Legacy. The reason Moon is good is that it shuts down their nonbasics, removing any extra abilities in addition to restricting them to only red mana. In addition, the opponent choosing what color they want to produce on their turn is much weaker than Moon's restriction that they only get red- which is underplayed in the format outside of Goblins and Burn, hence the opponent probably not being able to use that mana at all.

Why does this not see play in monogreen EDH decks? I run it in my Azusa Eldrazi deck, and it's done a pretty good job at screwing up multicolored decks. I like it, but why doesn't it seem like other players do?
