One of the best commons ever printed.

while it is rather well-rounded creature, I don't like how they slapped a random exalted guy in here

Ignore the exalted effect on him, and he's still good. 2 mana for a 2/2 is good. Then the colourless artifact/enchantment hate that doesn't even need to tap him. At worst he is {G}{W}{1} Destroy target artifact or enchantment at sorcery speed. Or chump block and then snipe. Exalted just makes him great.

a 2/2 for 2 mana, but with exalted and disenchant sacrifice.
useful and versatile

Oh Alara, you are so broken. A 2/2 for WG with Exalted would be a decent card... a 2/2 for WG with Exalted that doubles as a slightly more expensive Naturalize/Disenchant is ridiculously good. I haven't seen too many commons I'd want to build a deck around but this is certainly one. 5/5

I don't always attack alone, but when I do, I'm a Watchwolf

@ j_mindfingerpainter: Torch Fiend is kinda comparable to this, but when you take into account that this is multicolored and in the colors that kill artifacts and enchantments the best, it's kind of understandable that this is as good as it is.

Not broken, but one hell of an efficient creature.

Nowadays we would've gotten the same card but for 3 or 4 mana, single-colored. We still would've gotten that, but thank goodness this is multicolored.

EDIT: @ GrimjawxRULES: I don't think you understand the importance of this either destroying an artifact or an enchantment AND having exalted. Torch Fiend isn't nearly as efficient.

.5 stars for putting every other common to shame, this competes with some rares.

At least it's not a mythic rare. Voice of Resurgence

One of the many reasons green is so nice to have in legacy. A 1-of of this guy with GSZ can get you out some serious problems. He's quite balanced still; and pretty necessary to have around. Being able to kill off Batterskull while not necessarily winning the 2, or even 1-drop fights makes him pretty on par.

The difference between his card parity and Junds card advantage (which was everywhere) is part of the reason Jund so dominated; another part was Putrid Leech. Right next to this guy's ability to attack for 3 was a 2-drop who could attack or block as a 4. That set demonstrated how much more power you deserve to get for each additional color.

Each creature pushed boundaries and many saw play in several formats; some still do!

@WrathofShane: It's not a bad thing that once in a while we get commons and uncommons that are playable in formats other than limited. Furthermore, while I'm sure this was fine in shards draft, limited manabases and the lack of the most relevant targets for the activated ability reduces his usefulness for limited. I'm not sure what the point would be if they printed this as a mythic... I, for one, am happy that I can get such a nice card relatively cheaply due to it being common.

I doubt that anyone can deny that this card is very good. Hard to play around too. You can run out your target in order to kill it (and trade badly) or you can sit there and let the 3/3 hit you repeatedly.

Every time I look at this card I cannot help but think that Wizards originally planned on it being two separate creatures. One with Exalted and the other with the artifact/enchantment destruction. Especially since it is a common.

One cannot ask for more utility in a single creature. Creatures with similar levels of utility usually rely on some other source to make it good. For example, Deathrite Shaman needs the graveyard or it is just a 1/2, and Stoneforge Mystic is only as good as the equipment it gets. Also note that these cards are rares.

Of course I am not saying that Qasali Pridemage is better than these two, but my point is that this card is good by itself. It attacks as Watchwolf and is constantly threatening any of your opponents artifacts or enchantments. It is pretty much required as a 1 or 2 of in any GW deck, especially with Green Sun's Zenith.

5/5 for being an awesome card but still far from broken.
