If you have as many wizards as they have land, you pretty much won the game.

I'd call it a staple card for tribal decks. It gives a Wizard-deck some amazing control. He will slow down your opponents with just a couple of wizards notably. If you get Azami, Lady of Scrolls on the board you can mindlessly get card advantage equal to the remaining amount of untapped wizards you control at end of your opponent's turn if he/she is outtapped.

The main piece of a tribal wizard deck.

You have Wizards with Patron and if that's not enough just cast normal counterspells from hand. Mana Leak on opponent after Patroning him is like kicking a baby.

This guy is insanity. Dropping this guy on turn three when I usually have a Sage of Epityr out from the first turn and he slows down the game until I eventually stop the opponent.

All those wizards won't help you win after a Volcanic Fallout, eh?

One of my favorite cards of all time. In a Wizard deck this is practically the ultimate control card. As for Volcanic Fallout, you can always Meddling Mage it. Turn two Mage, turn three Patron and you're pretty much good.
I hope they reprint this at some point. I'll immediately make a Standard and an Extended deck around it. :D

I think it would be a nice combo with Lullmage Mentor, also if you have say.. a conspiracy on the field calling wizards, it would be very nice indeed
Wait until your opponent's turn to slap this onto the battlefield with Aether Vial or Leyline of Anticipation. Imagine: T1: Aether Vial T2: Vial at 1 for Sage of Epityr during your upkeep to Ponder. You've seen 12 cards from your deck - a fifth of your library. Crack a fetchland to shuffle away unwanted cards and cast Information Dealer T3: Tap Dealer during your upkeep to ponder again; put onto the battlefield something CMC = 2 (with vial) or something CMC=3 hardcast. You can also leave mana open for countermagic. You have seen 15 cards at this point - a quarter of your library. T4: Wizardcycle Vedalken Aethermage during your upkeep for patron wizard (vial at 3) - this also shuffle's your last turn library manipulation. Tap Dealer during upkeep to ponder again up a Force of Will (in case) or something for T5. You have seen 20 cards at this point. That's an entire third of your library, which should give you whatever you need. Vial in your Patron whenever for a free Rune Snag and lockdown.

"It is cards like this one which take all the fun away from the game and allow even the most inane of people to win countless games, as all it requires is the astoundingly complex feat of tapping cards and saying 'Annihilator 6'. No strategy, no thinking, just mindless ape-like imitation of the same action."

Pemmin's Aura let's you use Islands as stand-ins for wizards if necessary. Beautiful thing is you don't even have to enchant this guy with it (although you should).

I think auriscope was making fun of you.
What you said, is pretty dumb, I know that people may underestimate how hard or easy it is to play a deck, but each color, and each deck has different things that are hard and easy.
My main deck is a Time Spiral Standard Fungus deck. I swarm people, and all my creatures are very cost efficient. Saying that my deck is skill-less means you haven't used it before (you may not think that), it take a lot of thought and focus to spend Saprolings as a smart invesment, I use too many, I die, I use too little, I die.
Annilator 6 is only on Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and he costs 15 FREAKING MANA! Its a skill to get that much mana out, or make a deck that gets it out and kills you with it before you kill it. Make a better deck.
Counter unless you play one? Sounds like he swarmed you with one of the MANY wizard swarming token cards. MAKE A BETTER DECK! He has to keep track of his 'saprolings' too, tap too many, and he's open, tap not enough, and you will overrun his weaker creatures.
Its not even a hard counter. Lodestone Golem must be in the same train of thought, he requires less thought than this card does.
I would love to see your deck list, I'm sure it would be effortless to improve on, or at least your knowledge of the game.

Donato Giancola's rich, lush artwork with warm, realistic figures never fails to impress.
The cool part is, you can play him on turn 3 or 4 relatively safely, because he can tap himself to Daze a spell.

Ridiculously good, 5/5. Comes with Force Spike protection at a minimum, as much as a mana leak if you curved out and dodged removal. As with most tribal decks, if you let them get this Lord out before picking on their board presence, you'll have issues coming back.
Recent printings of Supreme Verdict and Abrupt Decay offer easy outs to the right colors; and creatures like Fume Spitter can give you an easy non-spell way to deal with some of his friends. Cards with split second can help you as well, or Grim Lavamancer :)

This card would have been insane today. Imagine turn one Delver of Secrets or just any other one drop wizard, turn two Augur of Bolas, turn three this. As long as you keep the wizards coming, the game has already ended right there and you can pretty much do whatever you want with your mana, draw more cards, etc. (Barring Supreme Verdict)
