That's a LOT of effects for W. This could see play.

1 mana for three effects, can't complain.
Firesplitter.

Not sure if I would play it in constructed, but for sure a card to consider in limited.

Kindled Fury with lifelink. It was playable in limited, if you set it up right it was a kill spell for one red mana. Now this is just silly, why is it just so much better?
It's like right after they print Skillful Lunge they make Zealous Strike.

Because Kindled Fury needed to just be amazing in EVERY circumstance.

It's like they were making a charm but forgot to say "choose one --".

Aurelia seems to be a nice girl when you look at this flavor text.
When Gatecrash comes out, I'm sure I'm going to kick myself for saying this.

Pros like me like using combat tricks like this one even though we don't need them.

Now THIS is a Limited combat trick.

"Sequence activate, trip the hammer to eradicate, I must eliminate
I will spread swift justice on their land"

Any guesses?

Card is probably the best white combat trick there is, but giant growth still has it beat. Even if two bears fight with one getting this and one getting the growth, the white player still gets his lifegain. This trades evenly with Assault Strobe, and owns Virulent Swipe(at least on that turn). Blue is tricky, as it should be, since it has very few effects that are just beneficial to your creature. The recent Mizzium Skin is a contender, but overload doesn't matter for this comparison, and it would lose to the strike. I feel blue wouldn't let the combat happen in the first place (and would maintain card advantage), so evasion is in order. Leap comes to mind, but for these purposes I prefer Shadow Rift because of all the instant-speed flying hate lately. Distortion Strike is usually better, but it's also a sorcery.

So there you have it, all the best 1-drop combat tricks for each color, the Strike, the Growth, the Strobe, the Swipe, and the Rift.

I opened a couple of these in pre-release and they saved my ass on more than one occasion. Don't want to trade? Have a first-strike! Need a little extra health? Give your fatty lifelink for a turn! Very flexible in limited.

@Dabok: What ya mean Aurelia seems nice? She's baisically saying "Doesn't matter if your right as long as you are motivated."

Seems like a very un-angelic thing to say.

Every time someone combat tricks this in Limited, I want to rip it up in a million pieces.

Easy to get, easy to pay for, always, ALWAYS kills my creature.

Not that bad for standard, really. I always wanted a 6/3 First Strike Lifelink Thragtusk.

4/5. A common instant that gives a creature +1/+0, first strike, and lifelink for . Probably one of the best limited white cards to draft in RTR.

It does more than Kindled Fury. Does that make it good? Well, not really. But it's highly playable in Limited, and that's enough to get a 3.5 from me.

honestly for what it does it deserves at least 4. i mean - what more can you get for single w? anything more and this would be crazy overpowered.
also keep in mind this not only saves your creature but gives you say 3-4 life for that low of a cost! thats not bad

Exactly what I needed for my Boros deck. Goes along well with the other combat tricks I have in the deck.

Useful for consuming the souls of your enemies.

Also, no longer combos with Nancy Grace.

I would disagree with the flavor. With conviction and evil desires, terrible evil occurs. Righteous is more important.

My Boros Reckoner blocks your 3/3. Boros Charm for indestructible. Combat damage gets dealt, Reckoner ability triggers (targeting itself), respond to the trigger with Swift Justice. -> Infinite life. I thought the first strike from Swift Justice would have gotten in the way of the combo (since if you cast Swift Justice before combat damage is dealt, the Reckoner wouldn't have taken any damage to initiate the combo), but if you do things in the right order it still works out.

Hehehee! If white can tack lifelink onto red's Kindled Fury, can it tack it onto Weapon Surge, too?

Huh. This works perfectly with Firedrinker Satyr...

This is my current favorite thing in my Precursor Golem / Splicer deck.

I really like the flavor text on this card. It's a unique spin on the really generic conviction flavor texts that you see on a lot of white cards.
