I think if WotC focused more of their artistic resources on making the bad cards look better, they might find people more willing to forgive the sheer awfulness of them all. I could be wrong though, because there's no way I would forgive them for this card.

For one red mana, something that reads as a conditional "destroy target blocking or blocked creature" isn't half bad.

This is never going to be a game breaking card. But, it's still a decent combat trick. Zealous Strike was good in AVR limited, and I see this card being just as good.

In sealed I think this is better in the start when your opponent is just starting to stabilize vs your aggressive red deck. rather than leave your attackers back since one of them would die, you can attack anyway. Your opponent is forced to block vs red, he can't keep letting damage through because of a possible combat trick. this effectively becomes: you attack even though your opponent has just started to stabilize and has a blocker (2-3 dmg) and kill his bigger blocker. all just for 1 mana. I'd take removal and 2-3 dmg for 1 mana in red any day. 1 mana also means that later you can quite possibly cast another small red creature with your remaining mana. Very useful and they are picked late
Excellent red combat trick that works almost every time.

Compare to Swift Justice. For just you can get +1/+0, first strike, AND lifelink. Sure, this is different colors, but if you can splash white put this in instead
