It's so regal.

@greg2367, Coalition Relic?

Strictly better than:
Bloodstone Cameo
Drake-Skull Cameo
Seashell Cameo
Tigereye Cameo
Troll-Horn Cameo

Better, in my opinion, than:
Talisman of Dominance
Talisman of Impulse
Talisman of Indulgence
Talisman of Progress
Talisman of Unity

Arguably, situationally at least, better than Alloy Myr. Darksteel Ingot is an auto-include in any EDH I make, and I have to fight myself to take them out of 60 card decks. Indestructible mana of any color just can't be beat.

Coalition Relic Can either give you 1 mana of any color every turn, or 2 every other turn. It also is not indestructible. So you've got steady, solid mana every turn with the ingot, or 2 mana every other turn that can be blown up at your opponent's whim with the relic. There are, obviously, ways to abuse the relic, but this page is about the ingot, not the relic.

I agree with greg2367-
I also find this the best colored mana artifact after Lotus and Moxen,
and an incredibly useful card all around.

Coalition Relic is good, but I prefer Indestructibility to Charging.

Works well with Tolarian Academy, Phylactery Lich, etc.

5/5- GREAT mana artifact! The days of crap like Standing Stones are nothing more than a bad memory.

Just don't get the flavor here. Sure, it's a hunk of Darksteel, that's why it's indestructible. But why mana production? If Darksteel generates mana like this, why doesn't Darksteel Colossus cost less or even pay for himself? Or Darksteel Myr be more like Alloy Myr? Hell, why doesn't Darksteel Relic do ANYTHING?

Yeah, those examples would be overpowered mechanically, I'm just saying from a lore standpoint.

I think the reason that darksteel doesn't power itself is the same reason why depleted uranium bulllets don't power themselves, they need to be set up correctly to get power out of it.

is it just me or does this nice little mana fixer NOT work out all that hot? i mean it works, but it always seems to just sorta flounder about... *shrug* 3.5 almost 4/5.

I love love love love love it. Very strong in five color decks, and instrumental in getting out the bringers on turn 3. Also, it survives all manner of foolery like Jokulhaups and Capricious Efreet. It is very good at what it does, but can be replaced in some deck by other rocks like: Boros Signet and friends, Everflowing Chalice, Felwar Stone, Iron Myr and friends, or Foriysian Totem and friends.

The Now-and-Future-King of 3-Drop Mana Accelerators, forevermore...

edit: @alucard311 - It makes my comment less impressive, but I'd have to say that it's actually tied for second place with Worn Powerstone, behind Coalition Relic :-)

I put one in every EDH deck. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the best mana-fixers. Plus, it dodges a lot of removal, like Akroma's Vengeance.

2 cmc non creature artifact accelerate is better, even if its not indestructible, comes into play tapped, and taps 1.
This is because you can tap out on turn 2, and hit 4 mana on turn 3.
